Hi Comrades,:)
I am based in India.
Even though I am a socialist, I believe that in a country like India, some sort of social democracy may not be bad after all. That's why I am trying to join electoral politics. Wish me luck.:)
I believe one can make civic and social changes here and there, create awareness in people - and slowly, gradually change perceptions as well as realities. This too is a revolution, for revolution does not have to be a one-time event where everything falls into place magically. Effort is required, and sometimes even the littlest gains in electoral politics may help.
That's it for now. More later.:)

Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
What party are you in? As for your politics: There are quite a few orthodox Marxists on the board (myself included) that also look to a longer-term strategy in order to build a mass political movement for communism. However, the overthrow of the current order more generally and the current constitutional order as specific 'revolutionary moment' is in our sights. What are your views on that?

I do not belong to any party, since 'communist' parties in India have let us down. I am planning to contest as an independent candidate; however, I am trying to establish links with socialist organizations.
On the whole, I agree that the existing order must be overthrown. But what is the way forward? Here is where I depart from my comrades - most of them are allergic to anything even remotely bourgeois. This is silly. We can use bourgeois institutions and systems for our benefit too - something Lenin said about the rope, lol.
My point is, comrades who shun elections are not exactly clear on the alternatives. What else are they willing to do - post on forums, distribute leaflets, then what? I am not mocking them, just honestly wondering........
