View Full Version : So apparently 'criticizing the rich' = Holocaust....

Venture capitalist scum Tom Perkins: "I would call attention to the parallels of fascist Nazi Germany to its war on its one percent, namely its Jews, to the progressive war on the American one percent, namely the rich, (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-27/tom-perkins-s-unhinged-nazi-rant.html)
That's right, this prick actually has the gaul to compare criticism of social inequality to the systematic mass displacement, imprisonment and wholesale murder of millions of Jews.
But this also means something else:
The bourgeoisie of the world are afraid. This is good. They should be.

This represents yet another round in the systematic program of redefining words thus manipulating thought. If left unchecked in 20 years the word "holocaust" will be synonymous with un-Americanism just as "terrorism" equals anti-Americanism unless unleashed by Cuban-americans.

"Let the ruling class tremble at a communistic revolution!"
-Marx
Famous words still hold true. The rich definitely love feeling sorry for themselves. Its like Kim Jong Un crying because they called him fat.

If it isn't vile rhetoric like this, then it's money being thrown at politicians and advertisers and 'news' groups. They'll do whatever they can to resist change and I hope that my children / grandchildren will see the day when all the posturing and lies and greed come to nothing and they are brought down, hard.

This is typical class warfare. Everything under the goddamn sun gets blamed on poor people. Hell it's a poor person's fault that their house got tore down by a hurricane cause "they should've moved somewhere where there weren't no hurricanes."
How come when the Rich do criminal things, Oh it happens. They get busted all the time doing bad shit, but they don't get punished on the same level that we do. Take Mark Zuckerburg for example. The guy hacked into Harvard codes, and became a billionaire afterwards. If that was you hacking into Harvard you would be in fucking jail today.
The only war is class war, and these people clearly are not human. They wouldn't know what it is like to be us for one day. They can't even imagine having to work their asses off like we do every single day for a paycheck just so they can buy a golden toilet or a 4th mansion or whatever. That's why bankers on wall street jump out of fucking windows when they start to go broke and might become poor.

I thought it was a German phenomenon to compare any criticism of a certain group to the denunciation and prosecution of the Jews. Currently, there's a shitstorm over here, against a tv host who behaved like a total prick towards a female politician from "The Left". Over 200k signatures were collected in a petition in order to cancel his show. Some journalist from a newspaper I actually like wrote shit like "Well, this campaign against him reminds of the nazi campaign against the Jews". This really left my speechless. Why can't people leave the Holocaust out for their shitty comparisons?

Because it's mostly the closest thing they can think of in the last hundred years of genocide, cause you know, the native American genocide was a long time ago just like they love to remind us that slavery was.

Because the Nazi Genocide was done on White People and if you ever noticed, the PoC genocides (Native Americans, Africans, etc) are ignored due to the deep systematic racism in our society since apparently Genocide is okay when it's committed on PoC but when you touch White People then your officially a mass murderer.

Jews are "white" only in an American context and only recently, so that makes no sense whatsoever.

Well it does make sense because they are white even though in Europe they are regarded as the social "other" though at the time.
Then again, what makes the Nazi Genocides against the Jews (but ever noticed that they ignore the Roma, and such) so special then compared to the others? Maybe perhaps the American context of Whiteness seems to dominate the world perhaps?

What's there to be outraged about? A 'progressive Kristallnacht' against rich people sounds like a good idea.

"They are white" - what does that mean? "Whiteness" is not something that people come tagged with; it's constructed by concrete social interactions in concrete societies. And of course, given the military and economic dominance of America, American culture does influence Europe somewhat - but try telling a German Nazi that he and a Slav are part of the same race.
Anti-semitism is given special attention in European and American political discourse, partly due to some Cold War habits (it was customary to play up Soviet antisemitism - and ignore the antisemitism of regimes sponsored by the West), but also due to the political prominence of antisemitism in turn-of-the-century Europe.
