If a communist revolution works then what is the plan to deal with counterrevolutionaries?

How can that question possibly be answered when "revolution" itself is such a distant thing right now?

Is it, though? Of course, it is dangerous to find "revolutionary situations" everywhere (old Gerry Healy couldn't get up in the morning without tripping over potential revolutions, for example), but I think it is equally dangerous to act as if the revolution is something that will happen in 50 years, maybe.
Anyway, the answer is obvious from the experience of previous revolutionary movements: violence by the revolutionary authorities against the counterrevolutionaries, including taking hostages, shootings etc. It's not pretty but neither is life.

Yes

Yes
Well that's a relief. That means we don't have to do anything, even with the accelerating economic contradictions, continuing imperialist predation, a renewed offensive against democratic rights, and the continuing threat of inter-imperialist war - the revolution won't happen, we're facing "centuries of deformed capitalist states", to paraphrase an utter bastard, so let's just go home, no?

If that's what you extrapolate from the statement "We are not on the verge of a revolution" then that's on you.

That's not what you said, though. You said that revolution "is such a distant thing". That is not how one talks about an event that is always possible, that is how one talks about the kingdom of Heaven on Earth.

Yo, it is distant, though. The communist movement hardly exists -- let alone an actual labor movement. It might feel good to pretend the revolution's always just around the corner but being delusional about where we stand isn't helpful.

ah lets be honest here, the death of capitalism has been proclaimed more often than i could count and yet its still here, #FF0000 is right, there is hardly any workers movement right now, most workers are depressed, class conciousness is at a extreme low level, the only thing i can see so far is that many workers, mostly all seem to think something is wrong and that it cant work the way it is, maybe something can grow from that

Alright, but objectively revolutionary situations accelerate the development of class consciousness. I mean, how many workers supported the Bolsheviks at the beginning of WWI?
