According to a new piece of commentary from Mother Jones entitled "Baseworld: America's Military Colonialism" the current administration has designs to create world dominanation via the establishment of new military military bases across the globe. The plan is to construct installations in a whole host of nations, not least of which are Columbia, Sierra Lione, and Vietnam (yes, that's right, Vietnam). It appears to me that this plan is one of world hegemony not seen since the days of the Third Reich; with Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld as the nearly laughable understudies of Adolf Hitler, Herman Goering, and Werner von Blomberg respectively.

Check out the article here and let me know what you think: http://www.motherjones.com/commentary/colu.../01/01_200.html (http://www.motherjones.com/commentary/columns/2004/01/01_200.html).

This isn't anything new. All U.S. Presidents have been interested in expansion, every one of them is an Imperialist war criminal. I have said this many times, it is completely niave and counter productive to believe that Bush is changing policies and pursuing new agendas. He is no different than any other U.S. President. The U.S. will continue intervening and taking advantage of its own interests until it collapses, or its people put up a strong enough stand to stop the interventions. So yes, they do want to control the world, but the leaders of the U.S. have pretty much always wanted to.

I wasn't saying this was anything new, I just though I would share since the article provides quite a few details on the matter.

The article sounds like rubbish to me.
