NationStates is a free nation simulation game. You create your own country, fashioned after your own ideals, and care for its people. Either that or you deliberately torture them. It's really up to you.http://www.nationstates.net

I have no idea what erepublik is, but go to the website and discover for yourself if you wish.

I wish I could customize my nation more so that it's less of a bourgeois republic, but I think it's pretty fun.

Good job Remus let's be mean to someone/something and criticise someone/something as usual. It is just a game Remus you don't have to be so critical and bossy all the time.

It is indeed very annoying how the choices are always so bad, and the fact that the issues seem to have had like zero additions since I first played this in 2003 or 4 or whenever. There was in 2009 a brief "Nation States 2" which added a number of other neat features, including trade agreements which resulted in increased growth, but it was closed down by those pricks at Jolt due to lack of expected profits or something.

True, but I'd still appreciate the latitude to create a region that qualifies as a nation as much as black qualifies as a color.

I agree with that, but I like the role playing function on the forums the most. It is sad NationStates 2 failed but oh well.

That is the worst part, that's for people who have friends and can make them. Like Minecrap.

Nah I used to play it all the time. Was a fun time. Just commenting on its obvious limitations, which made the game suck so I just stopped playing.

Still, what is a few minutes per day? I anyway really like role-playing on the forums which I mentioned earlier.

You could post in the old thread(s) about the topic and naturally divert the conversation if you dislike multiple threads that are about the same thing.

I've done various ones over the years (usually have one where things are how I'd want them and another that's the complete opposite for contrast / giggles)

I've moved from NationStates to CyberNations back in 2006.
eRepublik is too much work, but for a time I created the Communist Party of the eNetherlands (CPNL) in it and was even part of the eInternational. Geeky fun.

I've been playing for a while, but every now and then I have a lapse and my nation ends up getting binned for inactivity.

It's easier to manage than CyberNations. Plus I got banned from CyberNations years ago when I pissed off a Republican too much. :D

The choices suck because it's meant as a "centrist" satire of the political process. A lot of the issues have easy and obvious solutions, but those won't ever be added in because it takes away from the "see! politics is so complicated and all decisions are bad" message he (Max Barry) wants to send.
