"BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - Argentina's embattled government declared a state of siege on Wednesday to control the worst civil unrest in more than a decade as at least four people died in widespread looting and rioting triggered by austerity measures and rising poverty."

I hardly think you can call this falling apart. Do you know where argentina has come from, economically. It is still far beyond the trouble it experienced under its centrally controlled economy in the 70's and 80's.

its economy is still centrally controlled, only by the dictatorship of the IMF. they say reduce your education/health/welfare budget and spend more on investment in businesses, or we'll cut aid, and it is done. and its not just in argentina.
that, together with the corruption of politicians, is the cause of the argentinians' anger.

Gee...let me see, widespread looting, strong protests, people falling into poverty, people starving to death, government declaring a state of "seige". Looks like falling apart to me.
"that, together with the corruption of politicians, is the cause of the argentinians' anger."
Precisely what I was thinking. I don't agree with centrally controlled economics, but I also don't agree with systems that benefit a wealthy few the most!
Things are only going to get worse now. THAT is why Argentina is falling apart.
