Wouldn't it be fun to have debates in which your responses were actually videos? I know that due to current rules it's not possible, but I think it would be interesting to see how debates develop if instead of writing a post you made a video and linked it, then each subsequent reply was a video.
The more I think about it, the more hilarious I think it would be.

Would we have pre-debate shit-talking and hyping, a la wrestling?
The Feral Underclass

That would be even more hilarious, although I don't think I'd be very good at it.

i would make all my videos look like an eta communique video
http://hispaniclondon.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/eta-scary.jpg
but really i wouldn't like this at all, it is a lot easier for me to make an articulate response in writing where i can think it through. though i guess it would suit my short and flippant remarks well

“Go Home, You Are Drunk” is an expression used to point out someone else’s failure or misplaced objects, similar to other well-known dismissive statements like You’re Doing It Wrong and Buzzkilling. The phrase is typically featured in image macros in which the subject is performing a task incorrectly or found in an out-of-place position.

ETA look like ghosts from the future who came back to warn us about the dangers of high-starch bread. Maoist Rebel I would enjoy seeing at a rave pilled out of his mind.

You think the idea of human beings interacting with people as humans rather than words on the internet is a failure or misplaced? That's sad.

Text is human interaction though. Perhaps not as personal, but far more practical than sending video messages to each other. There's a reason why no-one does it.
Actually www.bloggingheads.tv is a website where people discuss political issues face-to-face in a civil manner. It's pretty bougie and American though.

I don't think so, but I definitely say it, its pretty handy. Plus there is the whole flopping head thing, I'd be a sitting duck. It would go down something like this:

Most Canadian and USian accents sound exactly the same to me. Except for the regional exceptions like Newfoundland or Boston.

I've seen enough Canadian TV to say thas totally not true.
I want every Canadian here to record themselves saying "about," or "out," and such and we can decide for ourselves here. You'll notice a slight variation towards the end of each word unseen in the US.
Plus I agreed provided I have time to make the puppets and their assorted costumes. Thing is I only know what one person looks like so I'm gonna have to take some creative liberties.

That's the thing, you see. I was born in southeast London, so I have a definite Estuary English (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estuary_English) component to my speech. But I also had a speech therapist because I was a late developer, which gave my accent definite overtones of Received Pronunciation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Received_Pronunciation). Then when I started secondary education I moved up to north Wales, which appears to have had some impact because I've been told I sound a bit Scouse when excited or angry.
Also, thanks to hanging around with so many Americans on the internet I seem to have picked up some elements of their vocabulary, further complicating things.

Isn't Estuary pretty much part of a continuum, where Received Pronunciation and Cockney (or rather, some form of RP and Cockney) form the extreme ends?

Not sure about that. All I know is that they're sufficiently different as to be distinctive, at least to the ears of a native like me.
On the other hand, some Americans somehow manage to confuse Australian accents for a bad English one.

LoL I said it sounds that way to me. So unless you have evidence to suggest that I am in fact lying about how I perceive Canadian and yank accents sound, my statement is true. :p

I'd probably sound Aussie to most of you. I've even heard people say Australian and South African accents sound the same to them. Although I really don't know how that works.

http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/ybjPGcnMHDw/hqdefault.jpghar! That outfit would distract me from paying attention to anything he said in the video. He looks like he's working as an officiant for a Vegas wedding chapel. Or maybe it's a 1940s mobster who became an evangelical tv preacher.
