Hi guys,

I'm a bit burned out on reading really long written works; I'd really like a change of pace. Anyone got any interesting leftist documentaries (esp. relating to history) to share?

From bourgeois perspective, nonetheless, pretty fair.

You say relating to history, so I do apologize if this only partially belongs here, but as far as propaganda goes it's a hell of a plot twist. So, being a US WWII prop flic, it's not terribly good to watch for its own sake, but if you read between the lines it says a thing or two about the society that produced it.

It's also in the public domain.

Seen it before, interesting that there are a few saying that Marxism doesn't work but it keeps coming up because it's a good story, but no one tells why.

But the biggest critique to Communism is really the lack of 'blueprint', without one it's pretty normal people keep telling there's no real alternative.

Honestly, we need studies and calculations, I don't think it's impossible to do even in a capitalistic society.

I still cannot post links, but look up
"The War of Lebanon - Episode 01 - برنامج حرب لبنان - الحلقة الأولى" in YouTube. It is a 15 episode documentary series about the civil wars in Lebanon since its independence. I know this is not specifically about left-wing politics, nut Lebanon does have a very rich history with left-wing politics.

Although he's tantamount to satan, Robert McNamara was in a documentary called "the fog of war" which was very informative.

I can't link to it given my post count, but I felt John Pilger's documentary "The Betrayal" was rather informative.

This one I enjoyed watching a half year ago or so when I did.

Having very bare bones knowledge of the subject I can't condemn or commend it content-wise, but it does have the film footage to compensate for any possible shortcomings that it might have ( if there's any ).
