Luxemburg was one of the outstanding minds of the socialist movement, and one of the few revolutionary voices in the late Second International - she stands above most people who wish to claim her legacy, Mandel being a particularly notorious example. She made mistakes, of course - ironically, her commitment to unstructured spontaneity led her to ignore the value of the revolutionary leadership provided by advanced Spartakusbund cadres including herself. But one mistake of Luxemburg carries more weight than the thousand half-truths scribbled by people who are, their formal orthodoxy and revolutionary pretensions aside, nothing more than traitor-social-democrats no different from Ebert and Noske.
