Boris Johnson invokes Thatcher spirit with greed is good speech

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/nov/27/boris-johnson-thatcher-greed-good

After defending the bankers since they caused a recession the poor have had to pay for and saying Londoners should literally worship the super rich for the wealth they create, Boris Johnson has now openly mocked the poor for being thick claiming more needs to be done for people with "higher IQ's" and "the harder you shake the packet the better cornflakes will rise to the top." He has called on London's "Gordon Gekko's" to "flaunt their greed."

This is the type of Ayn Rand sociopath nonsense you get from finance guys at 2 AM yet its coming from someone in such high echelons of power in the UK government.

I consider it beyond chutzpah for someone in such high echelons of power and responsibility to make miserable references to a fictional villian out of a film in a serious speech and to invoke elitism and eugenics with comparisons to people's "IQ." I guess the only thing left to look forward to for those of us not matching up to the level of intellect in our Mayors world view is that phrase from the Third Reich, "arbecht mach frei."

It isn't surprising to hear fascistic rhetoric from this current UK government. They are the same type of blue blood upper class aristocrats who were ready to work with the Nazi's if they won the war and admired Hitler. With Golden Dawn moving into third place in Greece and the Mayor of London invoking spirit of the pre war pro Nazi British aristocratic Toryism, Europe is becoming more like it was in the 1930's.

He even finished it off with a nice bit of sexism:

He added: "We may not have many gunboats any more, but we hardly need them, because we are already fulfilling our destiny as the soft power capital of the world – and that is thanks to a woman who knew all about soft power and the deep Freudian terror that every man has for the inner recesses of a handbag."

What a prick. If this doesn't spark widespread anger, then I don't know what will. This kind of mentality should not be tolerated one bit by the working class. Out of curiosity, how conservative is the British working class as a whole?

But of course "greedy unions" are bad.

What I find funny is that these people call us leftists "extremists." They need to look in a mirror.

What I hate is all this talk about how we need to care about the "producers" in society and how there are so many "parasites"...well, he's right, we do need to look after the producers, but the producers are the working class.
