I'm not sure if the frequency of this is actually rising or if the frequency of video emerging that contradicts the police story is the thing going up.
There have been tons of local protests coming out of these incidents to various degrees. The positive part of the protests is that a lot of them seem really organic, lots of involvement by the immediate communities not just in location, but friends and families. This has a double edge though because on the one hand it's encouraging that people are beginning to take a stand again and large liberal organizations aren't just calling the shots except for some high profile ones, but on the other hand the various protests aren't yet generalizing and often just don't have the resources to be able to begin to link up or organize some more proactive moves against police violence and so people end up responding only after some tragedy.

Right but a lot of the community protest is often directly tied to liberal organization dogma, both political and religious, which in my opinion and I think a lot of radical's opinions is completely inadequate. This is regardless if it's not taking place under some official banner.

I have noticed this too, it seems like I hear about a case of police brutality every single day, and the worst part is that these fucking pigs completely get away with it with a slap on the wrist. I mean, I am reading about cases of police tazering old women and gunning down unarmed people, and even a case of Chicago police torturing someone!
Also, violent crime in the US is actually DECREASING. Yet, the number of cop murderers is remaining about the same, although I believe it is slightly increasing.

Fuck the police, the more they use brutality the more I just want to destroy them myself. It disgusts me when I see and read shit like this. They get away with so fucking much and I'm hoping someone somewhere will take a stand against these fucking pigs. We need to put an end to capitalism and put an end to the defenders ov the bourgeoisie!

Mabye it Police brutality action has rised. But we shouldnt care that its rising we should care that we let exist! it was around since the beginning of this county, I mean police have been killing and discriminating against minorities since those races came here, its sick! In the interlude to a Dead Prez song "Police State" it states "The Police become necessary in human society only when that society is split between those have and those who have nothing!" Plus you are 6x more likely to be killed by a cop then a terrorist. I hear a lot about terrorists in America but not police brutality...well isn't that weird!(sarcasm)

I was going to say, I am curious as to whether there really is a "wave," or are more people just becoming more consciously aware of the shenanigans their magicians in blue commit on the daily.
For example, this last time I was locked up while I was in processing I saw a black male who was being perfectly compliant but questioney, slammed up against a wall, denied his right to an attorney, maced, had a spit guard put on him for no real reason, etc. all while all the asshole swines around us are giggling and grinning from ear to ear. A situation they initiated, escalated and then did illegal shit in response too. I see this shit all the time, rly.

You bring up a good question of Revolutionary laws. Many would say let the guilty hang or public trails. It is hard to answer this because it mite be better for the revolution if those ideas are killed, it is the sad truth. But i feel as if trials to prove the commitment to a better society should prove who is guilty and innocent! Its hard to say that for me because I have 2 uncles in law enforcement.

Right but a lot of the community protest is often directly tied to liberal organization dogma, both political and religiouswhat do you expect when most people in impacted communities hold liberal ideas about things?
which in my opinion and I think a lot of radical's opinions is completely inadequate. yeah, these small local movements haven't been getting very far, in part because they are disconnected, in part because they are not proactively oriented but are responding to specific incidents which make these sorts of things come together and then fall apart once nothing has been done or any court thing begins. All this is inadequate to push back meaningfully against policing as are FTP marches which may have better analysis and politics but are equally inadequate for some similar but some different reasons. Against these community and small radical forces is a wide view of the police in society that has been built up for a generation (police can do no wrong and society is full of sociopaths so the police need to be heavy handed), political hegemony around policing, the police organizations and beurocracy itself. IMO, policing and prisons will take more than it took to break Jim Crow, so anything short of a diverse but militant mass movement is going to be inadequate, anything short of revolution won't be able to do much beyond a war of position against policing (like we might be able to more effectively neutralize their ability to do this).
But the positive to me right now is relative. In the mid and late 90s there was more organization and action against these things and communities and organizations were involved on a more regular basis. But laws were changed that closed off a lot of the ways to challenge this in court and so liberals didn't know how to respond and so NAACP and similar groups backed off, communities also didn't know what to do to challenge things and I think people accommodated to having to be searched every now and then while doing fuck all and waiting for the bus.
But for whatever reason, it seems like now more people are unwilling to accommodate and just accept living like there is an occupational army in their communities and I think this is a positive initial thing that creates more possibilities for a more meaningful and effective movement to begin to come together. That a positive sign after a decade or more of relative silence and demoralized acceptance.

In the interests of finding the *least*-controversial position here, I'd say that there should at least be a 'rap sheet' with confirmed information (of incidents) on each and every officer. It would be a starting point.

what do you expect when most people in impacted communities hold liberal ideas about things?
My expectations were pretty much what I stated which was a counter critique to what I saw as your optimism on the issue.
yeah, these small local movements haven't been getting very far, in part because they are disconnected,
disconnected from what?
in part because they are not proactively oriented but are responding to specific incidents which make these sorts of things come together and then fall apart once nothing has been done or any court thing begins.
Responding to incidents isn't the issue it's the manner and expectations and everything else involved that is
All this is inadequate to push back meaningfully against policing as are FTP marches which may have better analysis and politics but are equally inadequate for some similar but some different reasons.
I'm not sure that you understand the politics surrounding FTP marches. I think what happens in FTP marches is often better than begging the courts/police bureau to do something or using the incident as a PR campaign
Against these community and small radical forces is a wide view of the police in society that has been built up for a generation (police can do no wrong and society is full of sociopaths so the police need to be heavy handed), political hegemony around policing, the police organizations and beurocracy itself. IMO, policing and prisons will take more than it took to break Jim Crow, so anything short of a diverse but militant mass movement is going to be inadequate,
but from what angle should that be approached?
anything short of revolution won't be able to do much beyond a war of position against policing (like we might be able to more effectively neutralize their ability to do this).
Most activist and religious community leaders would take a stance against a revolution, period.
Yeah, that's what happens when you approach it that way tactically.
Less options and a clearer view, until next time, which hopefully illustrates the point I'm trying to make

Yeah this case is more similar to Zimmerman than to police brutality IMO. Not that there isn't an obvious connection in that one wanted to be a cop and the other was a retired cop and both felt entitled to shoot people for fuck all.

CHP just killed someone about a mile away from my house who ran from a stolen car. BART police just killed another BART police in the East Bay. It was while entering someone's home. Why the hell do BART (subway) cops need detectives and why are they going around in people's apartments anyway? That was rhetorical.

I agree. And most likely, these cops will be not-guilty, if they are even charged at all.
Kelly Thomas' murderers, two Fullerton, CA police officers, were found not-guilty of murder after they beat him to death while he was on the ground calling out for his dad. While I'm glad people are protesting like hell, it won't change the broken justice system we have.

Ace: You know i have weight-gain problems, i gain weight pretty easy, I jog and walk almost every day for about 1 hour around my house. And even though there are a lot of black people around where I live, I've noticed that most black people, are scared of jogging and walking for fitness every day because they are conscious about their own race, about how blacks in America are hated by the majority of european american whites, and not only that, in many cities of USA blacks are almost banned from being in public areas, from being outside, from jogging and running. Because they are affraid that the "stand your ground " laws would be applied if any white right-wing US citizen kills any black man

16-year-old brutalized at the hands of Philly Police

Dear Chris,
Darrin Manning, a 16-year-old Black straight-A student and star athlete in Philadelphia, was with his friends heading to a school basketball game when they were stopped by the police. The police encounter quickly turned violent: Darrin claims that an officer handled him so aggressively that his genitals were injured, forcing him to have emergency surgery and possibly leaving him infertile.1
Darrin’s shocking mistreatment and assault by police is shameful, yet the Philadelphia District Attorney, R. Seth Williams, is continuing to press charges against Darrin in court.
This case is catalyzing the Philadelphia community to speak out against the aggressive targeting of Black folks by the police and sparking national media attention, shining a light on the long history of the brutality perpetrated against Black and brown communities by the Philadelphia Police Department.2 If we act quickly and speak out against this injustice, we can make sure the District Attorney feels the pressure to drop the unfair charges against Darrin.
Please join us in demanding Philadelphia District Attorney R. Seth Williams drop the charges against Darrin and investigate the officers involved. It only takes a moment.
Darrin and his friends were simply heading to a basketball game when the police decided that they were “suspicious” and tried to stop them, as they do to so many young Black and brown men. The group started running away, but Darrin says he stopped running and tried to comply with police orders because he hadn’t done anything wrong. Then according to Darrin, an officer violently patted him down and “grabbed and squeezed and pulled my private parts and I felt something pop."3
Darrin’s story points to the ways that constant, baseless street stops subject our communities to police harassment and violence, which can so often turn lethal. Despite a court order to reduce it, Philadelphia continues to use Stop and Frisk at a very high rate,4 meaning countless other young men like Darrin face these invasive stops as part of their daily lives.
Darrin was the victim here, but he continues to face three misdemeanor charges.5 National outrage over Darrin’s mistreatment is growing, so if we act quickly we can make sure the outrageous charges are dropped and that the officers responsible for this cruel act of violence are held accountable.
Please demand that the District Attorney drop the charges against Darrin and hold the officers involved accountable. And when you do, please ask your friends and family to do the same.
Thanks and Peace,

Wait, and I have something even crazier about how blacks in America are so harassed. I heard an MP3 audio speech by Bob Avakian, president of the revolutionary communist party in http://www.bobavakian.net/ that in America many black parents do not want their young children and teens to get into weight lifting, and to grow too tall, because many black parents who are very smart and very conscious how blacks are hated in America by many ultra-right wing white americans, are very scared because they think that if their children grows too tall or too physically strong, they might be shot and murdered by the police. Bob Avakian said that what kind of society and nation USA is in which people are even scared of weight lifting because the police might see them as threats.
I also heard that US government will close all gyms of prisons because the US government doesn't want prisoners to become too physically strong. They know that the lumpenproletariat class is a threat to the US oligarchy
But don't worry vengeance must be eaten cold and in a plate, in the coming bolshevik revolution in USA
