View Full Version : "Why Socialism is on the Rise"

So what is the moral case for capitalism? It lies in recognition that socialism isn't a great idea gone wrong -- it's an evil philosophy in action. It isn't driven by altruism; it's driven by greed and jealousy
(apparently capitalism isn't).
Socialism states that you owe me something simply because I exist. Capitalism, by contrast, results in a sort of reality-forced altruism: I may not want to help you, I may dislike you, but if I don't give you a product or service you want, I will starve. Voluntary exchange is more moral than forced redistribution.
(as well as the opposite, in the case of the consumer, that is one the main fatal flaws in capitalism)
Socialism violates at least three of the Ten Commandments: It turns government into God
he was actually thinking of State Capitalism, which is what most "socialist" countries have or had
it legalizes thievery and it elevates covetousness
Wow, that's exactly what Corporatism/Capitalism is, complete opposite of socialism.
Discussions of income inequality, after all, aren't about prosperity but about petty spite. Why should you care how much money I make, so long as you are happy?
When someone is making billions by sitting on their ass smoking fat cigarettes while millions are starving then there's kind of a problem.

I don't see why you should pay attention to anything posted on townhall. It's like the incoherent rages spewed by various imbeciles on The Blaze and similar. This sort of silly idiotic articles are the norm where one idiot tries to impress the other with a more nonsensical argument than the last. These sort of things are so ridiculous they do not warrant anyone's response-- not only is this fruitless, because they don't care, but wastes a lot of effort that could be wasted elsewhere: masturbating is a far better time-kill.

I'm surprised that you and Commie even attempted to read anything from TH considering that it's known for its rehashed ultra-reactionary whining. Nothing deserving of acknowledgement comes out of that place, unless you're a masochist.

The author of that article is probably some Bill O' Reilly-worshiping right-winger who labels anything he doesn't like as "Commie! Socialist!". But it can be just annoying when leftists label anything they don't like as "Nazi, Fascist!".

It's funny how that works, name-calling goes both ways.

You're fitting everyone into broad categories that assumes everyone in that category says those terms...

The irony is, something being Nazi / Fascist actually denotes some effect because there is apparent oppression. The surrogates of oppression don't exist in socialism and communism

The common definition of communism and socialism in the West is generally in reference to State Capitalism (USSR economy).
