I have seen this term bandied about a little and not sure what it means…Is it related to Sam Marcy?

Its nonsense. The only person I've ever really heard use the term was Hitchens in 'Hitch 22' and the dude wasn't really ever a Marxist. If you want to know what the people who use the term, mean by it, then its most likely a way of self styling oneself in a fashion that has tenuous points of contact with 'orthodox Trotskyism' while dropping/severing some of the perceived negative baggage of the tendency.
Moved from /theory to /learning.
