Hello all,
At the time of writing I'm 15 and live in a relatively small and quiet town in the south of England. I've been interested in leftist politics since I was about 13, and knew I was communist since around that time. Although I don't like labelling myself too strictly just yet, I am very interested in Marxist-Leninism. I joined this site as there is very little political activity in my area, especially amongst people my age, and I thought I could learn a lot from others. I look forward to spending more time here, thanks for reading.
Welcome :)

What attracts you to ML politics specifically?

Hello,
I've been interested in Marx and his theories for a little while, I am equally interested in the 1917 Revolution, and I also have views in line with that standpoint. Lenin is my hero.

As orthodox Marxist I also have a high regard for Lenin. "Marxism-Leninism" however is an invention that started after Lenin died. I see it as a political/theoretical adaptation of a regime that featured a counterrevolution within the revolution, something most commonly known as Stalinism.
Hence my question: What attracts you to "Marxism-Leninism", being such reactionary politics? Then again, you might view this question entirely different, so.

Hello! I'm also 15! If you ever want to talk to someone with similar politics around your age, you can always let me know!
PS. As already stated, Marxism-Leninism was a term coined by the Stalinist bureaucracy after Lenin died to justify its rule and exploitation of the working class! Unless you identify with Stalin as well, you should drop the label. I used to think that too. But that was before RevLeft and now I am a Trotskyist :)

Very true. As I mentioned, I'm still learning and don't associate myself with anything specifically; although I find it and the history of it fascinating, I greatly agree with what you say. I simply see it as something interesting to be learnt about more than a view I hold personally.
