Do you mean like specific goals? Well then:
Get fit enough to get job as a deckhand and/or pass as female (aka not look like an overweight drag queen in a dress and makeup).

More generally speaking:
Have new experiences, meet new people, fuck at least a few of said people, make some paper, go back to school (maybe), drink absurd amounts of coffee, get drunk more often, spend as much time with the people I love as possible, do stupid shit, eat more onion rings, leave people behind instead of being left, become a pirate (maybe), and just pour out all the resulting thoughts and feelings of the previous things into a keyboard and word processor. Basically, after years of running in place I just want to move forward in whatever way I can.

Hahahahaha that's quite a combination of goals

Also as a former deckhand I can tell you that if you're not fit when you start out, you'll get fit in a hurry.

Learn German... at least enough German to help while I'm there later this year. And start making dosh on my own steam instead of having to work for local fuckhead employers.

Meet new people, make more friends, make more of an effort to keep the friends I already have and be generally less of a shit friend to people and not just use them for emotional labour, use professionally qualified individuals for emotional labour, avoid/overcome depression, act more responsibly and be more accountable, eat less/no meat, read a lot, become a generally better person. Oh and get a job (I can't believe I just said that).

Most of those are very difficult to measure but certainly a lot to be getting on with there.

Indeed. ;)

Also as a former deckhand I can tell you that if you're not fit when you start out, you'll get fit in a hurry. While getting fit enough so I don't drop dead within the week of getting a job on a ship is currently my primary goal, I don't actually have the foggiest clue how to obtain such a job once I am fit enough. Is it the sorta of job you need certification for or is it more of an on the job training type deal? I've only done fairly rudimentary google searchs since I think I'm still about a 100lbs away from the not dying in the first week point, but google seems to think the only people who work on boats are Alaskan crab fishermen and the steps to becoming one doesn't really help me considering I'm on the other side of the continent right now.
