IWW Usergroup

Hello everyone! The purpose of this thread is to remind everyone that there is a usergroup for IWW members called Wobblies (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=216) in which tips of the trade can be exchanged and different sections within the union can be examined. If you're in the IWW and not in the group I am encouraging you to do so.

I fell off of paying dues and being involved while living in Montreal, partially because I was doing more "punk" and less "worker", partially because the branch fell apart after the secretary-treasurer quit on the basis that we "lacked an authentic class base" (true), and partially because all business was conducted in French (je comprend juste un petit peut). I am attending a meeting in Halifax now that I'm home, working again (I start as a dish pig on Friday), and the branch does its business in my first language.

Wanted to join a while ago, but my parents wouldn't let me (even though I was around 18-19, definitely an adult) because they didn't want their name to be associated with "such a radical organization" and also because they think I'm too young to make that sort of decision, especially since I have Asperger's and they can find a book to support any claim of what developmental level they think I'm actually on or whatever.
