Watching snippets of him on The National (CBC) made me wanna smash my TV.
"We dont need a permission slip..."
Why didnt he just pee on the carpet of the UN General Assembly...it would have been less insulting.

I belive he claimed the US to have the greatest healthcare system in the world, I know the US isn't ranked number one although it's pretty high. he also said some nonsense about his immigrant program, he says he doesn't want sovereignty for illegals becasue it would incourage more illegals to enter the nation and be rewarded for breaking the law. But thats exactly what he's doing by giving the illegals temporary worker statuses. There were two or three other things that caught my attention but I would need the transcript to remind myself of what exactly it was.

I watched the webcast at work.
Bush said something like "the patriot act will expire next year (or next month)" and people started clapping. Cheney found it funny.

Yeah I noticed that, I thought that was funny. I think it was some democrats on Bush's right who were applausing, but there was a much larger applause when he said he wished for congress to extend the patriot act for the coming years.

So I guess we are now currently at war with homosexuals.
We have to defend our country from terrorists
We have to defend our sanctity of marriage from homosexuals.
Why not just be honest Bush, tell us how you really feel. Makes me picture him at the walls of a city tell the people to defend all they know and love from those evil homosexuals and evil terrorists. The homosexuals wanted war by asking for equal rights and that is what they are going to get!
"Bring it on! Homosexuals!"

EC come to Canada, get married, then go back :) It is a temporary substitute, as Canadian marriages are recongized in the US.

Quick little excerpt out of the State of Union.
"Last month a girl in Lincoln, Rhode Island, sent me a letter. It began,"Dear George W. Bush." "If there is anything you know, I Ashley Pearson age 10 don't know, please send me a letter and tell me what that is."
Tonight, Ashley, your message to me has just been conveyed. And no, you have same level of intelligence and knowledge I has."
Pete, although I do not believe in the institute of marriage and think it a funny tradition that won't go away. I suppose my partner of 5 years and I would go to Canada and be married, for the sole reason that A. We should be able to, B. It pisses off the moral majority of this country and C. I want to know what divorce is like. :P
I am not exactly sure that the American government is accepting same sex marriages in Canada, I remember reading somewhere that they are not and in fact are harrasing same sex married couples returning over the border. Detaining them and what not. I know American couples are doing it, but I don't think it is being recognized.

Hmm. I;ve only read that Canadian and American marraiges are co-reconkized ()if that makes sense). You just can't get divorced there, and to be divorced in Canada you have to live here for three years or something wierd like that. The law is common law, soon to be statue.
I laughed at the third paragraph in his speech, about how the armed forces are being violent people to justice.

A nice rebuttal to the State of the Union address...
Bush’s State of the Union: Threats, lies and delusion
By Bill Vann
22 January 2004
In his third State of the Union address since his installation as president, George W. Bush Tuesday night spelled out an election-year agenda consisting of stepped-up global militarism, the continued looting of the economy to augment the fortunes of America’s super-rich and an appeal to social and religious backwardness.
It was a speech devoid of any new proposals and lacking even a hint of comprehension of the intense political, economic and social crises that are racking American society.
Instead, behind the obvious lies and deliberate distortions, what predominated was the self-delusion of a ruling elite that has never been more distant from the problems facing the vast majority of the American people and believes that reality is whatever it claims it to be.
The annual address is supposedly a solemn occasion in which the government gives an accounting to the people. In reality, the spectacle provides the public with a glimpse into a US political system that increasingly resembles a private millionaires’ club whose wealthy members slap each other on the back and rise in uproarious cheering for statements that they all know are false.
In place of the pretense of social vision or the announcement of new political initiatives that are the standard fare of these speeches, Bush’s central message was one of fear. In his nearly hour-long speech to a joint session of Congress and the viewing public, Bush used the words “terror,” “terrorist,” and “terrorism” no less than 21 times.

Oh but do not forget his whole sentence that explains our whole reason for going to Iraq in the first place. After all the supposed WMD, uranium from africa, aluminium pipes, and other WMD bullshit. This is his proof all in one sentence:
We have found a "dozen nuclear related programs"
WTF is that... nuclear related? So that could be a hydrogen plant program thought of as nuclear. What kind of reasoning is that. Bush has proved himself of deception and lies. Why can they American people not see this? They are blinded by the corrupt mainstream media.
The State of the Union was an insult to the American public. It had nothing to do with the American people, only giving out what people need to here to reelect a psycho. The time is now, if you are eligible, help yourself by voting this November. Bush needs to be put down.
On top of it, he wants to permanently or semipermanently take away more of our personal freedoms by extending the patriot act? What is this, a dictatorship>? We do what Bush wants?

I watched it at about 2 in the morning on BBC News 24.
Not only was it nauseating, it also helped me get to sleep as it was insufferably dull.
He is a mental defective and possibly the worst public speaker I've ever heard, with his hammy, fake "Good 'Ol Boy" accent and stupid eyes.
