View Full Version : Why reject Bush and/or Reagan?

President Bush is one the greatest coninuers of the noble Capitalist
way of life of all time and of patriotic Americanism. He smashed The Taliban and
fought against the greatest enemy of all mankind, Terrorism. A
faithful American, the continuation of the American way of life has been sanctified in
the US under the wise leadership of President Bush. Freedom and
general well being are ensured for all the American people under Bush. The
American people (under the wise leadership of Bush) take democracy
into the 21st Century and on to Mars. Bush has deeply touched the
lives of all freedom loving people of the world. I would go so far
as to say that Bush has been the greatest president of all time.

President Reagan was a great leader, a great patriot, and a great
theoretician. The very existence of the American way of life would have been
impossible without the noble leadership of President Reagan. President Reagan
guarded and strengethened the freedom of democracy and the prosperity of Americans
in the United States. Great President Bush - a faithful patriot - was the
man who defended and strengthened the American way of life
which Reagan helped to establish, the man who guarded the unity of the
US Constitution which Reagan helped to propagate, the man who
strengethened the powers of big business, the man who strengthened
the United States to defend her noble freedom loving way of life from
terrorist aggressors, under whose leadership the
foundations of Freedom were built.

Why reject Bush? Why accept the liberal's fanatically
anti-democratic lies about Bush? By discrediting Bush you
are only discrediting the American way of life and
thereby harming our movement.

One would applaud such a piece if one were a capitalist.

I would not. It is entirely based on rethorical devices and hyperbole. There's no substance.
How can a cult of personality possibly be a good thing?

I don't applaud it, and I'm a capitalist. But of course it's always ok for a communist to generalize but god forbid a capitalist do it because he'll get called out by every damn communist on the board for "sterotyping".

What a wise game on Anti-Fascist's words. Incredible, inspiring, touching.

We shall salute the Great Master of Proletarian uprising 'canikickit' for clearing up that Lenin and Stalin are traitors and need to be fought against.

Thanks for that masterpiece.

You may not see any 'substance' in the post if you were a capitalist, but I should imagine you would still applaud it.

Anyway, I think rhetorical devices and hyperbole are a refreshing departure from some of the arguments on Lenin and Stalin here.

No, I don't like Bush at all and dislike many of Regan's policies, and I'm a capitalist :o

My pleasure, Captain Sarcastic. I hope you didn't miss out on the point, that being that Anti-Fascist's post was nothing but hot air, dressed up in fancy clothing and wearing a nice hat and dashing smile.

You must be smoking pot you hippy, if you have such an imagination.
In all honestly, I think it was a crap piece of writing, too much worship, not enough reasoning.

No, it's nothing to do with my opinion on Stalin and Lenin (oh, hey...you did miss the point).
I think that Stalin and Lenin are historical figures who should be criticised and examined. We don't need to fight against any dead people, this isn't celebrity deatch match, nor is it one of you Marxist-Leninist's ether induced hallucinations.

Hyperbole is most useful for comedic purposes, as our dear and honourable friend Bianconero has kindly and benevolently demonstrated.

Maybe that's what you think, comrade... But will the filthy capitalists and bu$h-lovers think the same? If you think they will, you put their intelligence and wit on a par with yours!! Heh Heh Heh, i'm saying nothing!

You should consider writing election manifesto's for the Tories! Or "New" Labour!

Lenin and Stalin are traitors and need to be fought against.

No, comrade! Lenin was a wonderful chap! (In my professional opinion)

I have seen your criticism of films, I think your criticism on the arts is overly harsh. Although I am know little about this subject myself. I imagine you find few films and books that really please you.

I doubt I will ever be called a hippy again.

"I'm saying nothing"...indeed.

But seriously, what are you trying to say? Do you think that if I feel that the "capitalists and Bush lovers" also think that it is a crap piece of writing than I am saying that they are is intelligent as I? That's quite convoluted. I'm not sure if I understand your angle here.

Only if I know Anti-Fascist isn't going for the job, otherwise I don't stand a chance.

Perhaps, but I do find sarcasm quite funny at times. A good form of wit is irony. Perhaps you will notice that what I said to Bianconero was both sarcastic and hyperbolic.

I do find few films that sastisfy me, you're right and I agree, my criticism of films is perhaps somewhat harsh.
I do find many books I enjoy though, I'm a big fan of reading.

I did misunderstand your opening post. Either way, Lenin and Stalin are both examples of how revolutionary politics can be put into action. Giving them credit for it is not wrong. Furthermore, I want to say that I find your play on Anti-Fascists words not wrong (now that I did finally grasp your intention), but not very sensitive.

It was not my intention to offend, but I do apologise to Anti-Fascist.
I feel that my parody of his post demonstrated that his words were all air and could be switched around to apply to anyone without much effort. It would be much more difficult to parody a post that had distinct, clear reasons for not rejecting Stalin rather than "he was a good guy" or "he touches us all deeply".

I also drew some parellels between the adoration of American leaders and the adoration of Soviet leaders.
Why is eastern propaganda somehow more valid than western propaganda?

That is what I always wonder about Stalinists, and really, the left in general. Many leftists are so ready to call everything that challenges them "western propaganda", yet when faced with blatant leftist propaganda they eat it right up.

It just goes to show that the far left is as delusional as the far right. There is a balance people, not every single thing that comes out of a Capitalist's mouth is a lie.

You must be a counter-revolutionary, we must purge you and send you to a work camp in Siberia. [/joke]

Seriously... I agree with canikickit... with what he ment by this thread I mean! The cult of personality thing is pretty sickining.

To me, watching people debate over Stalin / Trotsky / Lenin / etc... is maybe only one step above arguing if Eddie Van Halen,Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, or Yngwie Malmsteen is the best gutarist.

Meanwhile, we are all still living under the yoke of capitalism.

Because eastern propaganda serves our cause?

I can agree that every form of cult around single individuals is disgusting and needs to be fought against.

... not every single thing that comes out of a Capitalist's mouth is a lie.

They lie when it serves their urgent needs. (repressing progressive movements, executing our comrades etc.)

Why shouldn't we? After all, we want to achieve socialism and we all know that only socialism will end repression and exploitaton. In our struggle for socilaism and freedom, we shouldn't hesitate to take any steps that are necessary.

Redceltic: what do you think this website is for? It is here to discuss theories, politics, philosophies, and leaders. So why wouldn't people be discussing lenin, stalin, etc.? Instead you agree with someone that is praising a man who lies, and takes away from our people? Your logic against real logic makes absolutely no sense. You write it is sickening to read about them debating these topics, then what exactly are you doing on this forum? Or atleast reading the posts containing this information. Just because you do not like these debates, does not mean that they should not take place.

I am not trying to raise havoc, however this topic is shocking to me. Haven't people realized Bush has lied to the American public and has done nothing to help his people. Where are those WMD? Where's that uranium from Africa? Where's the proof of that those are really supposed mobile nuclear labs? Where is that link between Saddam and Osama? Oh you mean Bush just hasn't told us that.. Yeh sure that must be it.

Canikickit: So if Bush is your hero/favorite president or whatever. Then you really do not believe in the US constitution do you? Bush has taken away from our freedoms, he will lie and decieve the American public to get what he pleases, and he has enough patriotism to try and get reelected this year (if you disagree with the fact the Bush has lied and deceived, feel free to challenge, for I can prove it to you). So feel free to salute your American hero, for he is the opposite of what this country should be.

After rereading your speech about Bush/Reagan I finally clicked on the link below. But I am still hoping that this is not the true way that you feel about this egomaniac. Please tell me that you did this as a sarcastic ode to the bit about Stalin, it was not also to truly praise the moron.
