Hello comrades!

I'm an anarcho-communist from California. I became a socialist when I entered high school, and became an anarchist at the beginning of 2013, if my memory serves me correctly. I basically started as a moderate democratic socialist, then moved into Marxism, then into a more Luxemburgian form of communism, then anarchism. I don't completely subscribe to any one set of theories from an anarchist philosopher or intellectual- I have taken different parts of my opinion from different people.
Some pertinent books that I like are Brave New World, People's History of the United States, Amusing Ourselves to Death, God and State, and various works by Chomsky. I enjoy reading literature and writing, especially plays and screenplays. I enjoy debating and attend as many youth political/debate conventions as I can. I am kind of a fan of Zizek, even though he is a Marxist and our ideologies clash on major points. Lately the anarchist philosopher that I have been reading up on the most is Steiner.

That's about it! I look forward to getting settled in here.

Indeed welcome, glad to hear about more from a fellow person in California. I joined in October and I have not regretted it. We'll all be glad to help you with any questions you have.

Oh, btw I meant Stirner, not Steiner; autocorrect

Thanks for the welcomes!

Welcome, from San Diego!
I'm from SoCal, but norcal and it's redwoods are very beautiful
(sorry for being gone so long, I've been out of town)

Because last year has been such a political train wreck in the US (relatively) many people have begun to lose faith in the government, making anarchism, socialism, and communism much more relevant. I think that soon people will begin to realize how little reformist politics can help them.

I don't think I have any questions now, but I will post in Learning if I do. Thanks!
