That is really creepy, even if it takes quite some time for them to become efficient. But when they do become efficient, that would pose a threat to the working-class. Imagine it being used by the state to crush protests and other forms of public dissent. That would really be bad.

Unless the working-class somehow manages to use it for its own purposes.

Holy shit, the daleks are taking the children!

Soon they'll deploy their military bots for police purposes too.

'crime prediction' sounds like the contractor promising things to the customer that they know they'll never be able to deliver. I'm sure it will just target minorities preemptively like our current crime prediction specialists

You post some terrifying shit though bcbm

If it is electronic, it is able to be reverse engineered

I'm sure some whiz kid will find a way to compromise one

I'm wondering how easily this machine can be dismantled and torn apart...

The thing about a revolution is, ultimately most cops have some semblance of a conciense that means that while they may be totally comfortable beating down some punk radicals, they may have moral qualms with killing their fellow country men when a truly popular revolt occurs. A machine experiences no such feelings

Cool, I like this. Can't hack a human, and reverse-engineering them is awfully messy.

Not to burst your bubble but this machine is the equivalent of a mall cop. All it does is observe and record. I'm assuming a facemask and a bat is really the only thing you need to combat THE ROBOT MENACE!

Didn't ED 209 get defeated by some stairs?

If i see one of these in my city i'm gonna steal it and i won't be the only one.

I'm not concerned anyway. My local police force wouldn't even dare risk the money.

I'd like to see the first Mayor to try to get this through the city's police union.
