Hi everybody. I'm a former Paulbot who has become increasingly disillusioned with capitalism. I have read the Manifesto, but not Capital (although I will soon. I am in the middle of Farm to Factory right now). I admit, I don't know very much about Marxist thought beyond the basics. I hope to learn. Greetings!

Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
I do recommend Capital for beginners. If you can, do it with a peer or even a reader group, so you can get more out of it. Also, David Harvey gives a good explanation (http://davidharvey.org/reading-capital/) that you can use as a study guide.

Where in Texas are you from? DFW? Austin? San Antonio? Houston? Or from outside the triangle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Triangle)?

Hey! Welcome to RevLeft! I'm a former libertarian as well. Granted, I wasn't a hardline libertarian and just identified with it because of the social tolerance that it ostensibly promotes. Once I began really learning about politics, I realized it was fucking bonkers and abandoned it completely. This was a good ... 7-8 years ago.

I'm really pleased when libertarians, more than other currents, make the leap to political Marxism. Perhaps its because it seems like libertarians are the loudest opponents of Marxism and the least likely to consider it. At least you have broken through the myths peddled by Hayek and Mises.
