I have been a Socialist since I was 15, when I first encountered Herr Karl Marx's work. I am the life of the part in history class debates, as I am always one to champion left-wing and progressive opinions, and criticize capitalism, racism, and imperialism. I am excited to be joining RevLeft, and I hope it will be a place of good learning and discussion for me.

Cape Town is currently run by the democratic alliance, SA's own super capitalists. But one can see the dissatisfaction amongs the working class. the Congress of South African Trade Unions is splitting, due to clashes between the corrupt leadership and the unions they represent. recently, SA's second biggest trade union, the National Union of South African Metalworkers, has already left COSATU. Many workers have formed their own militant unions. There have alsi been two new socialist parties formed this year. It's like the proletariot has just woken up
