Indian workers shut down seven mines and destroy bosses' offices (http://libcom.org/blog/indian-workers-shut-down-seven-mines-destroy-bosses-offices-30112013)

Following violent clashes over the decision to dismiss hundreds of unionised workers and replace them with unaffiliated workers, locals in the Odisha region of India have forced the closure of seven large open cast coal mines, and two railway stations. 1,000 local workers ransacked the management offices and fought running battles with workers who remain loyal to the bosses.

Those miners are a lot more powerful than their bosses think they are.

The protesters were led by one Braja Kishor Pradhan, legislator (from Odisha?), independent. Anybody have any information on him?

Chhatisgarh is to the west. There is already upheaval there. Any strong connection?

The government has been telling people for a long time to help them to disable mines (explosives used by Maoists). Seems to be a case of mass-misinterpretation. :D
