Hi all,

When I was doing research on the net, I've found this:

Michael Parenti - To Kill A Nation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApaMIJiOt-c

I thought it was intresting, and sorry if it's been posted before, but I decided to link to it.

Nevertheless, to summarized, more or less, according to Michael Parenti in the video there are three groups of people,A. Those who own everything B. those who work C. Those who are unemployed and in misery.

Africa, Slav, India and other so called "Third world/underdeveloped countries" were rich nations with their own mining industry prior to the Captialists who came over to rob them of it. These nations are not underdeveloped but overdeveloped hence they are still rich, only their people are poor.

Also, capitalism is an equal oppunity exploiter but race simply made things easier.

I didn't like the way Michael Parenti use the term"people in drag" as a negative thing, especially since I believe in the rights of cisgendered people, but I though what he had to say was interesting.

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

Just as an aside: I have, in the past, enjoyed Parenti's analysis concerning the role of the U.S media in beguiling the general populace through honed ideological production. Also, his work on cultural hegemony, in the tradition of Gramsci, is well formulated.

Thanks, now I'll be looking up Gramsci's work! ;)
