Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself.

I am 18 years old and studying Film & Television production.

Of course, I have joined this forum as I am a revolutionary leftist. On the far-left spectrum, I am definitely to the left, of the 'left-communist' variant, with anarchist tendencies. I am very much open-minded and open to ideas, so I doubt my tendency will remain constant as I immerse myself in the forum.

See you around.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Where are you from and what' s the left there like, if there is any? What attracts you to left-communist and anarchist ideas?

I’m from San Diego – while the surf is great, the left scene is lacklustre. I’m at USC at the moment and I’ve engaged in a few political discussions –most ‘leftists’ I meet are really left liberal capitalists or on rare occasion social democrats.

What attracts you to left-communist and anarchist ideas?
I suppose describing some of my ideas as anarchistic is a bit misleading; let me rephrase that I stress the libertarian aspects of Marxism–and therefore consider myself a strong critic of Stalin and his creed.

I would prefer a system of workers’ councils, where the delegates represent workers. The temporary delegates are elected among the workers themselves, can be instantly revoked if they betray their mandate, and are supposed to change frequently. There are no managers and all decision power and organization is based on the delegates system.

On a larger scale, a group of delegates may in turn elect a delegate in a higher position to pursue their mandate, and so on, until the top delegates are running the industrial system of a state. In such a system decision power rises from bottom to top from the agendas of the workers themselves, and there is not a decision imposition from the top, as would happen in the case of a power seizure by a bureaucratic layer who is immune to instant revocation.

I am a ‘guarded–Vanguardist’. Any form of organization of the proletariat needs to remain accountable.

Welcome comrade!
Thank you, comrade.

Hey What are your favourite films?

Silent era: The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Nosferatu, Metropolis, City Lights

Contemporary: La Règle du jeu, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Vertigo, 8½, The Godfather, to name a few! I just love film and I'm currently also doing an online course in 3D animation/production.

It's worth working towards something you enjoy.

Definitely. It's a question of how to achieve the means we all desire: a classless, stateless society. I hope to learn more about the anarchist position on this issue, as my current bias is favouring a syndicate/council form of organization in the transitionary phase - grounded on democracy/accountability.
