A discourse on brocialism (http://www.newstatesman.com/laurie-penny/2013/11/discourse-brocialism)
"On Brand, iconoclasm, and a woman's place in the revolution: a dialogue with Richard Seymour on the question of how to reconcile the fact that people need stirring up with the fact that the people doing the stirring so often fall down when it comes to treating women and girls like human beings."
I haven't finished reading this yet, but so far so good, and I figure it might be an alright point for kicking off a discussion. So . . . thoughts?

While I've only done a cursory scan of the text, it seems very well thought out. I think sexism is a huge problem within radical politics (just like almost every other form of oppression), but it is hidden behind the word "radical".
I have to say, anyone who displays these attitudes is not a comrade.
I will reply more in-depth later.
o well this is ok I guess

ever since semiotexte put out the english translation of Theory of the Young Girl it always seems to crop up in these sorts of articles.

The question, then, is this: how do we reconcile the fact that people need stirring up with the fact that the people doing the stirring so often fall down when it comes to treating women and girls like human beings?
Is that really such a difficult question to answer? It's because, as an author for Ramparts magazine put it back in the heyday of 2nd wave feminism, the patriarchal family unit is the most pervasive class structure in history. While I don't really agree with the wording of that, I do agree with the general sentiment. Taking that into account, it's not really surprising that negative attitudes would creep into even radical discourses.
Doesn't excuse it but it does explain it.
I don't like either Laurie Penny or Richard Seymour though.

Under brocialism everyone will refer to each other as 'bro', 'braw', 'brah', or 'bruh', regardless of gender.
Also, fist bumps *will* be mandatory.
