Many of you have probably already seen this film. Based on the description of the forum, I feel it necessary to say that I don't support and I widely oppose the brutal monarchist North Korean regime. However, this film is not North Korean. This film was made in New Zealand as a social experiment on propaganda, the creator calls it propaganda squared.
The film, none the less, exposes Western and imperial atrocities in such astounding and undeniable detail, that I feel it is an appropriate film to show those who doubt that the western powers (mainly Britain and the U.S. but Israel is also very criticized) could be capable of evil. The film also heavily criticizes the modern consumerist society.
Throughout the film, the emphasis on oppressive elements, and the talk of democracy as well as revolution make it obvious that this film is not North Korean. So setting that element aside, this film is good at showing people the undeniable truth of the hegemonic imperialistic entities that have tricked many into thinking that they are the liberators, and anyone else is a terrorist. If we could only have more films as aggressive as this one without having to pretend to come from the enemy, there would be no doubt of the evils of the world powers. The footage is extremely graphic and real, so I must advise the squeamish (among others) that this film will cause discomfort. That same footage is what makes this film so revealing and hard hitting. After watching this film, there is no denying of a need for change.
