How would that work though, out of curriosity.. you just show up in Mexico waving red flags and yelling 'viva la revolucion!' .. no disrespect intended, I'm just wondering exactly how you would go about this in Mexico or any country for that matter..

Red Flag,
for someone who is going to flee to an island, i dont think u can mock someones revolutionary integrity and bravery in risking sacrificing their lives for the revolution.
CWND,
how are these revolutionaries conneects to the masses? are they working within the trade unions?

it will be hard, but I'm not saying there's no hope. Do what you believe you have to do. However, I can imagine that they would be very skeptical of many americans coming to Mexico claiming they want to help the revolution, so just be prepared for severe criticism.
good luck

I fear you would be shot.
You'd kinda look like spies.
And on a final note, why are you going to Mexico to fight? I thought you were a Buddhaist and did not want to hurt anything? At a miniumin you are not a Marxist.

that's why I gave up on the Buddhist path a few years ago, it would prohibit me from participating in anything that would inflict pain on another.
btw, I didn't know chewillneverdie was leaning Buddhist...

Yes, I am inclined to ask just that. That's really about all you could do, just rally people. I would join if I had enough money to go down there and hang out for awhile, that and a gun...

ugh, i've said this before:
Too many people live some mental wet dream about joining the E.Z.L.N.(I'm assuming this is the group you're talking about) while ignoring reality. You wouldn't be able to survive a day in the jungle. Besides, they do not want foreigners to fight their war. Sure, they accept monetary donations and such, but they want to win the fight by their own means, and by themselves, that is, the indigenous. And the E.Z.L.N. is not necessarly looking for revolution, but rather land autonomy and indigenous rights free from government racism and exploitation.

see this is what pisses me off. every 12 year old kid who claims to be a communist looks on ANY revolution as a communist revolt so they can pretend they relate to them. lemme tell you somthing, the EZLN are democratic socialists looking for land reforms and to stop racism in mexico. they are not looking for revolution they are looking for land and peace.

It's ok.
CheWillNeverDie hasn't been on Che-Lives for a while now.
I think he got the point he contradicted his own beliefs and either started a new name, or ran away.
We all should realize he stood for nothing except for sounding like an idiot.

i watched some documentaries on this a while ago. it is a local revolution to take back indigenous land and end exploitation. one town in particular called emiliano zapata (named after the founder of the movement) operates on a very communistic level. people go out and work together in the day, produce is distributed after work is done, and everyone is kept after. one very good way to help the movement as i learned at this talk is to send them cameras and camcorders and computers and fund their propaganda sector. It is important that they get their word out because indigenous people are always pushed aside and overlooked and lots of people (even leftists) in the US and other places forget about chiapas and just think about NAFTA and how that's screwing with mexico.
