So, I still am fairly new to the anarchist scene, and I thought that it might be good to have tips for those who want to be more involved but are having a hard time doing so due to not having any connections.

The tips I have received:

Join an organization that is close to your beliefs
Even if you don't completely agree with the organization's goals/beliefs, it'll allow you to network and meet new friends and comrades.

Participate in as many demonstrations and events as you can
Same reasoning essentially- meeting new people.

I'm thinking I'll edit any other advice that gets posted into this thread into this post, so people don't have to scroll around trying to find each individual bit of advice.

Questions I have: I often want to have an open Q&A about this or that topic, but I neither know how to arrange a place to do so, nor doI feel confident enough to put myself out there, tips?

I'm not sure how those things relate to actual working class struggles.

Well, I'd be interested in seeing a revolution play out where none of the revolutionaries meet each other and form connections.

Basically, I'm looking to find ways for people to become more involved. I fail to see why that's would be considered a problem or not relating to the working class struggle.

Well, hope you don't mind if I ask where you're from?

Portland.

It's not so much that there's a lack of activity here, more so that I feel almost unwelcome due to my status as a newish radical on the scene.

Now, that's very odd to me, coming from the Swedish leftist milieu. Being unwelcoming is... a really, really bad idea. I seem to remember reading some stuff about Portland and the FBI - related, you think?

I've felt relatively unwelcome here since before that. Like, on one hand, I've met some truly amazing people, but for the most part (and I think it could be due to bad luck) most seem to be fairly unwelcoming.

However, I think that'll change if I go to more events and whatnot.

But yes, recently there was an informant in Portland.

One of the key characteristics of Portland that I've heard from many people is that it is unwelcoming.

Have you thought about talking with or joining up with the IWW (assuming you haven't already) they are pretty active here.

Just be careful what you share and good luck finding some great comrades!
