Hey lads,
Been involved with "left" thinking since I was in highscool being a typical Turkish Kemalist. Then as I got more involved in the left I despised nationalism and the system. Though by then I was more of a, as I like to call it "Che socialist" meaning a person who love the romantic-anti system movements. Since I got invovled with a Trotskyist party, I became more of a Marxist in the true sense but eventually I grew cold to these Trotskyist-Stalinist-Leninist distinctions as well.
For the past 2 years, my focus is strictly on dialectical materialism and understanding the progress of history the right way. I do not call myself a socialist anymore and try to eradicate myself from all the "popular" dogmatic thinking that was caused by not actually understanding Marxism.
I am a student of development and economic history in Lund University and one of my plans on the long run if possible is to become an academic. I found myself "less influential" in action wince my invovlement in the protests in Turkey in summer. Not exactly the leader type, and quiet honest I actually get sick of people who simplify Marxist thinking.
Looking forward to learn and argue a lot here lads. I am a highly critical person, moreso of the Marxists, which is what being a Marxist is about after all :D Ruthless criticisim of everything existing.
