Hello.
I have been looking through these forums today for the first time.
And I am relieved to have found people similar to me in how we view the world.

I am in my Teens, and am learning how the world works. Through personal and others own experiences. for a few years I was fascinated by the Soviet Union and how it worked. I was interested in the Russian revolution of 1917, in my spare time I have studied Vladimir Lenin and how he gained power for the soviets.
I plan to study more aspects of the left, and of course hear other peoples views and opinions of previous events.

I appreciate any suggestions of where to get started, or any interesting threads to look at.

Thank you For reading!

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Presenting the Russian revolution as "how Lenin gained power for the soviets" might be a little skewed. I suppose you can dig into the history of Marxist Social-Democracy. It was their strategies that gave Lenin and the Bolsheviks their political strategies, be it under Russian conditions.

Also, where are you from and what's the left there like?

Thank you for your response!

Yes, i do apologies, my view of it was 'skewed' for a while. However I have understood how I did not have the full picture and I'm here to try to get a better understanding!
Thank you for the suggestions.

I'm from England, and the left is not really mentioned between people.
It does annoy me, I like to be open with people and if they ask my opinion I will answer as best I can. But my family are a mixture of Christian, and right-wing so we dont always see eye to eye!

At college I try to explain my interests and fascinations with the left, however many people hear the words 'Left wing - Karl Marx - Lenin' and shut me up pretty quickly haha. So yes, many people either don't care, or cant be bothered.
