"We don't need to have the extremes of inequality that we have. The people at the bottom end should be doing better. I think it behooves this very rich country to have less inequality than we have." - Warren Buffett 2013
Dear Chris,
Warren Buffett owns the BNSF railroad, a dominant mover of Walmart goods in the US. He is also a major Walmart stock holder. And it seems he's adopted the Walmart way for his rail yards. Rail yard workers are extremely important in getting Walmart goods from the trains to stores in time for black Friday. Yet, rail yard drivers who work for BNSF subcontractor Renzenberger earn poverty wages. Fed up with not being able to provide for their families, they've organized a union and are fighting for a fair raise and to end unfair labor practices.
But Buffett's BNSF is threatening to put the workers out on the street if they don't accept poverty pay!
Please sign our petition to tell Buffett to drop the Walmart way (http://org2.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=B9ZRwAcaBq6w7sOz6HHFvW1TPXXOD5eQ) and stop bullying workers fighting for fairness and decent pay.
Thank you,
Robert Bridgeforth, Rail yard driver
