Enjoying these forums a lot. Afraid I might be deleted if I don't post something soon. I'm new to activism and really to message boards in general. Haven't really had too much to contribute, I get the impression most of you know way more about this stuff than me.

A little bit about me:
I joined a PSL branch where I live after the whole build up to the war in Syria. So far they are the closest ideologically to what I believe that i have found in my area, and also they are a very active group which I appreciate.
I've held left-leaning beliefs for a long time, but I've never really done anything about it until recently. I'm an atheist but I've been getting interested in Liberation Theology recently. Big fan of Noam Chomsky. I've read several of his books and I compulsively watch him on youtube. Also I have recently found David Harvey and I really want to read some of his books. I of dabble in the theory/philosophy stuff sometimes, Zizek, Deleuze, Foucault. But not enough to be an expert or anything.

Also I'm looking forward to looking up more lists soon of leftist media! Hopefully not too frivolous a realm for me to mention in an introduction. My name comes from the Thomas Pynchon book, The Crying of Lot 49. I don't really identify with the character or anything, I just like the name. Currently reading Bleeding Edge.

That's all. Look forward to posting more and reading more soon.

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Mind you that posting in these subforums (all of the non-political) doesn't count towards your postcount. As you joined the PSL, I presume you're from the US (although there another PSL in Belgium at least). So what's the left like in your area?
