View Full Version : Warped infractions policy on here

Funny how some users can get away with dishing out vitriolic personal abuse without the slightest criticism, far less censure, from the mods on this forum(I'm referring specifically to a thread currently at the top of off-topic board) yet someone can receive a 20 point penalty for making rather innocuous and light-hearted comments about the propensity of elderly Scottish nationalists to sport beards.
IMHO the political biases of some the mods on this forum seem to compromise their ability to make dispassionate judgements.

There is no real basis for the infraction system here. Mods and Admins will give out infractions without following proper procedure and for any thing they can reasonably get away with. It's a free for all.
I received infractions for the most ridiculous of things without any proper warning that I was contravening any rules, despite that being a requirement of dishing out infractions. I've also received an infraction which has been reported as being for two completely different things in two different places.
Who cares though? I wouldn't worry about it. Threads like these are only going to lead to more infractions.

Are you talking about the thread where you told someone to go get a blow job?
Rather than just complaining about things, what would you propose be an alternative? Have some council for deciding infractions and warnings?
Here's what you can do now, rather than complain: A) send a message to the mod of a forum if you think someone's being abusive to the point where an official intervention needs to happen B) if you are sad because you were infracted, then take it up with an Admin and explain why you think it was politically biased.
But honestly, there's no political conspiracy involved with a self-selecting participation forum that isn't majority Stalinist and there's no conspiracy in moderation; it's often just a judgement call and mods can't read every thread so we tend to miss things or give warnings or whatnot as we see them.

The notion that moderators and admins are completely impartial in their moderation and administrative duties is just naive beyond belief, if not downright fucking ridiculous.

Alternatively, A.J, you could just get better politics.

Moan ..
Verbal warning, the non-political forum is not meant for complaints about administrative conduct, knock it off.
