What is your wind down routine? You know, that set of things you usualy do in order before you go to bed. Personally I crack a liter of mountain dew, turn on my computer, check on my nation states account, write a chapter of a book I am compiling on my website, then scrummage around through revleft looking for new or interesting threads, occasionally posting one, and then I turn on some of The Smiths, get all comfy like, then dream of ak's and revolutions (supposed to be a play on 'gumdrops and lollipops' but its whatever).

I think about what I did the whole day, get upset and try to have happy thoughts. Then I sleep.

Usually I'll smoke a bit of weed. Sometimes if I'm having an especially hard time sleeping, or if I want to send myself off involuntarily to sleep because I know I have obligations in the morning & need rest, I'll take a sleeping pill. Usually I'll lay down where I sleep, with some water, and watch late night television (talk shows in particular). Late night television is good for sleep because it's completely meaningless and vapid, and is thus good for getting me in the right mindset for checking out of consciousness. When I feel ready to go to sleep I'll turn off the TV; after that it's rarely more than two or three minutes before I'm sound asleep, often less.

I should really get into the habit of one of these, it would probably help me with the growing case of insomnia I seem to be developing.

I don't really have much of a wind-down routine, though it would probably be better if I did. Sometimes I watch sci-fi in bed before sleep, but sometimes I just stay up way too late on the internet.

a litre of mountain dew? Fucking hell.

I check the computer, pack my bag for the morning, make sure my dog's done her business outside, clean teeth, wash hair/face if necessary, put either BBC4 or Talksport radio on and proceed to bed.

Or sometimes I get drunk and fall asleep in front of the tv having done none of the above.

Wash my face in warm water, turn off all electronics, close the door and think. Sometimes if I'm creative, I'll do some writing or sketch a picture. If I'm really into it, I'll spend like an hour working on it.

Haha, a lot of times I think about stupid things I've done in the past. I'll mutter stuff like "You're such an idiot" or "Oh gawd, why did I do that?". My roommate can probably hear me through the walls. I think he's gotten used to it though.

Oh, and the harmonica. That's always fun.

turn off the PC, get changed, brush my teeth then my hair, get a glass of water and if it's early enough read a few chapters of a book before going to sleep

I either blitz myself with mindless television, or I reread a book i've read a hundred times before. If that doesn't work I just stay up all night working on whatever book idea seems most urgent, and posting on here.

if I've had a bad day I'll listen to a record and drink a bottle of wine
