Criticism of bourgeois democracy

Hi, could some of you kind folk direct me to essays or whatever which explain the deficiencies of bourgeois democracy, parliamentary democracy like in the UK in particular?

I'd also be interested in reading some stuff which criticizes or is against socialist/communist participation in such systems... even as a tactic.
