I have had this profile for two days now, so I thought i'd go ahead and do this now. I am a person who breathes air. I believe every man (excluding the 1%) should have the right to do as they please and that piracy should be legal :) Sometimes I may appear to be politically confused, but it is only because there is no party available at hand that represents at least 3 quarters of me beliefs. I always find something wrong with one or the other. But I usually find my self aligned with the left, even though I go with a conservative/right wing standpoint.

That's all I guess

Love and Peace for all,
TheMaroon

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

What attracts you to the left, given your conflicting positions? What pulls you to the right? What's the left like at your place?

What I like about the left is the lack of discrimination and general friendliness, I like the idea of a no class society, and where there is no 1% or 99% we as a race should be 100% working class. A raise in housing standards, and equal pay. But generally those in the left are all about big government and at the same time very tight gun laws, but i support loosed gun laws and a small government, who only steps in when the majority needs it to. Also from what I hear liberty is a dangerous word on this sight, which is odd cause isn't communism about liberty for the Proletariat?

I see. I can understand where you're coming from, but I think you've dealt mostly with leftwing liberals. You see, communists are all about freedom, we strive for universal human freedom in fact.

The "freedom" which is talked about on the right however is freedom for capital: Of course they're yelling about free markets, less state (read: less taxes and less regulation so capital may roam more havoc "freely"), etc. But at the same time they need the state as it guarantees their perpetual rule as a ruling class and keep us, the vast majority of society, captives of the system, slaves to capital.

Communists therefore want to destroy the state and replace it with a new, semi-state. A "state" that is governed directly by the people, for the people and consists of the people, the vast majority of which consists of workers anyway. Even this "state" is a mere shadow in terms of power relations in comparison with the current capitalist state. Its purpose it to ensure the class society dies, fully, and with it this "state" - this apparatus of working class power - negates itself.

Communists for this reason fight to win the battle for democracy, as an actual democracy brings our class to power in all advanced capitalist states. To achieve this, we need to overcome this oligarchy that we call a "democracy".

Oh and yes, communists have a long tradition of supporting universal education in the use of arms and workers militias. So, let's cast out that liberal nonsense as well while we're at it.

I think you may be far more communist than you might think.

Might I also ask how long I am a trusted user on RevLeft

Not sure if I understand the question, but if you're asking when your posts stop being moderated: When your poscount reaches 10. Mind that posts in /intro's and a few other subforums aren't counted.

You have us confused with liberals, who aren't leftists, but your conception of what the Left is frankly sounds like it was cribbed from reactionaries. Stick around, and maybe you'll learn from us.
