I'm looking forward to learning, hearing what others have to say. I feel a time of action is near and I am anxious.
Good luck out there, Comrades.
Sincerely,
A Florida Guy

Welcome to RevLeft.
Take a look round, find something interesting and join in some discussions, is my advice.

It's always nice seeing people come in from the reactionary cold that is the American South.

Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
What are your political ideas, if anything specifically? Where are you from and what's the left there like?

Outside of the cities, the left barely exists. There's a notable presence in Miami, but certainly no majority. Here in the more rural areas, there are some people that have realized the issues wth capitalism and with American society in general, but the vast majority are utterly ignorant that the critiques they expound were already put to paper 150 years ago. A lot of reactionaries, mindless ones at that. Once, there was an old man working the chicken bar at walmart, I was getting dinner for me and a friend, we were talking about inequality, etc., and the old (white) man declared, "a poor person never gave me a job." Me and I my friend just looked at him, we didn't really have any idea what to say; it was the first time I actually heard a "normal" person say that, same with my friend, too, so we were kinda dumbfounded.

Some replies could be:
- "Yeah, you need to have some capital to hire a wage-slave" (emphasis added for use in the redneck south :p ).
- "Yeah, did you have a say in that? Or is your boss the sole dictator in that?" to emphasize the democratic deficit that exists in most of our society.
- "Yeah, what is your boss doing in helping to create more equality? Oh right, he's just taking your labor as his profit, creating more inequality"
I'm sure there are more ways to have replies, but yeah, you need to be a little witty :p

I know, but I was just so surprised that he actually said that, it was surreal.
