I've been looking for a site like this for a while now. I'm glad to have found it. I spent the last couple of days lurking here when I had time, and I was really impressed with what many people wrote in the topics I've been reading. So I know I'm going to spend a lot of time reading things here, but I'm not so sure how often I'll post. In any case, my story began when I watched an anime called Kaiji, which caused me to question capitalism and resulted in my flirtation with Marxism, Communism, and Socialism. I'm not sure what the general opinion of anime is on this site (I've been to some forums that hate it so much that they don't even allow you to use an anime avatar), but Kaiji serves as an excellent allegory of what capitalism does to people, and even if you hate anime I would recommend you check Kaiji out. It has been a few years since I started questioning and discovering how dirty capitalism is and I now feel comfortable saying I'm an anti-capitalist. Anyway, nice to meet you all, and I would like to end my first post by saying, "Let the ruling classes tremble at a communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win!" ~Karl Marx

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

What are your political ideas, if anything specific? Also, where are you from and what's the left there like?

Where I'm from politics are so screwed up and influenced by the right wing that they caused my government to shut down, in other words I live in America. I believe in state ownership, but nothing totalitarian. I'm all for a democracy, I just don't want for an extremely wealthy plutocrats to influence politics. I think the only way to get rid of the influence of the wealthy is to take away their ownership. Factory workers are as necessary to an economy as management positions, and so I think that everyone making a contribution should be rewarded equally. If managers are unmotivated without enormous paychecks then they have every right to quit and starve. Taking more for yourself is not proper motivation, just exploitation.
