This is the second audio released by the opposition this year. Earlier this year it was an audio of a Chavista radio host who was supposedly discussing the deepest and darkest of state secrets that he somehow knew to a random Cuban military man. He denied it was him.

Bro, he is alive.

He lives in us. In our minds, in our hearts. In the consciousness of every working Venezuelan.

And in the sole (that's right, sole) of those who wear Bolivar's colors on the field!

If chavez was really in hiding he would only need to call upon the Venezuelan people to overthrown their government and reinstate him.

At the very least if he was alive and threatened showing everyone he is alive would make it impossible for him to be killed without a massive public backlash.

Chavez is dead of that i am certain but i am curious how the rightwing opposition is supposed to gain from this ?

I heard he's performing at the Coachella music festival in hologram-form this year.

i am curious how the rightwing opposition is supposed to gain from this?Well I think it could also easily be an apolitical celebu-hoax because of the cult of personality and celebrity around Chavez. But if it is from some political opponents, then I guess it would be a strange attempt to use the gap between Chavez's popularity and his less popular sucessor. Liberal- and conservative- leaning US conspiracy theories would sometimes say that LBJ was part of a conspiracy against JFK (they would just have different reasons for why he was part of the conspiracy).

They're trying to preemptively sabotage his album sales

He must form a Popular Front with Elvis Presley and initiate a People's War to conquer Caracas.

The idea is to divide the left, to pit Chavez against Pres. Maduro. It's the same old shuck as the "Fidel had el Che killed because he was jealous of his popularity" and "Stalin bumped off Lenin because Lenin wanted Trotsky to succeed him" that still gets told in some right wing circles. It's done with the intention to show the left as duplicitous and ruthless.

The infowars of Venezuela...

What? Venezuela Analysis is a pretty solid source. The opinion pages get annoyingly uncritical, but the news bit is usually pretty good.

It could be the Chavistas overreacting, but the opposition has said some pretty outlandish shit about Chavez, so who knows.

No I mean the people in general suggesting Chavez is still alive.

The false audio recording appears to be the work of JJ Rendón, a Venezuelan media and political consultant often employed by the Miami Mafia in smear campaigns against the Cuban and Venezuelan governments.

Typical gusano strategy, all paid for by CIA and God knows who else.

Ah, gotcha.
