View Full Version : The American Left Is a Joke, Mates

Aleister Granger

Because it seems I have to do some of that good ol introductory schnozzy before I start blasting off I decided to go ahead and come straight on here.

Aleister Granger is the name, and to anyone who tries to throw a Crowley joke my way, just know that this minuscule period >>.<< is supposed to be an intimidating fist. Raised above my head. But intimidating.
So as I wave this very obviously intimidating fist in your face, my first order of business is going on about who I am and why I'm even on a leftist website (if that is what this is)

It all started in the early '70s when my mum and peet were in bed, a phallus thoroughly inserted in...
We can assuredly skip that part.

Fast forward much time and here I am, utterly disgusted with the current state of affairs you collegians/high schoolians/star belly sneeches seem content with letting go on. That is assuming most of you are American. There has never been a time more pathetic than this one, where someone as Rush owljuggling Limbaugh and Alexis Jonestown is touted as a champion of antigovernment sentiment. This has much to do with the incredulous weakness of the American left and its jackfluttered lack of a platoon of icons as the Right has adopted. Where this Occupy frivolity has only fostered a 'no leader but the people' delusion that has ultimately left one very knife hanging out the chest of the American proletariat. Atrocious now, boys and girls! Simply atrocious!

But I'm just getting ahead of myself.

Hi there, I see you've got a knack for interesting prose, keep it up

Can you tell us something about your political views?

Oh yes, if the name is a real one (don't really get the reference, if there is one), you might wish to change it due to this board's security policy.

Welcome.

Oh I hope "Hermione" jokes are allowed since the "Crowley" door has been bolted shut.

The American left is a joke, if you mean it has little organic connection to the class at present. I think some of this is subjective issues with the left, but I think the bigger problem is demoralization, cynacism, and lack of struggle among the class generally... which, as a worker, is not a particularly funny joke.

It took me about 5 minutes to connect the dots. Damn me and my popular culture ignorance.

I imagine the situation in the U.S. can seem hopeless for many American leftists, but who knows? The long-term trends seem to be favoring leftist ideologies. I remember when I read Karl Marx's 10 bullet points in the Communist Manifesto, where there was mention of heavy progressive income taxes and the improvement of soil. I remember thinking to myself how agreeable Marx's positions sounded, and eventually, I turned to socialism after a few years. I'm still trying to learn more about Marxism, but I've been somewhat limited with college and everything, so it can be a challenge. There are a few areas where I disagree with Revlefters, but nevertheless, we can agree on the important things. Welcome to the community.

If by "leftists" you mean "liberals" then maybe. There is nothing american communists love more than going on about anti-imperialism.

I hate leftists going on about anti-imperialism, but then I'm not a leftist, nor am I American.
