Basically I'm curious to see if there are any Marxists who have had anything to say on the matter. It seems obvious to me that the transformative potential of labour (i.e. its ability to add value) is circumscribed by what is available in terms of energy and resources, that is to say that iron miners without iron ore to mine are effectively out of a job.
So is there any further reading that anyone here might be able to point me to, assuming my question isn't too ill-formulated?
