So, if an opporunity arose to actually go and help a guerilla group fighting somewhere, or the opportunity arose to start an armed uprising in your own country, would you actually have the courage to do it ?
Myself, in my own country yes but i dont think i would actually have the courage to go and help a guerilla group fighting in somewhere like colombia, even though i believe in what they are fighting for.

I wouldn't, but this is not a matter of courage. The guerilla groups usually represent the views of a minority of their population and hence cannot be considered part of a true revolution. I believe a social revolution, where the vast majority have reached class consciousness, is requisite in any true revolution.

I'd join a militant/civil disobedience group in my own country. And then maybe I'd move to join a movement somewhere.
who knows?

Waiting for everyone else to wake up is an excuse for inaction.

Once you can kill mentaly than you can kill physically.
I would help a guerrilla group if I could, my plans after college is to go to Colombia and help the revolution there, but I'm not sure if I want to go on with it,I mean my dream is to become a game designer, and I don't want to give that up.

i Cant believe you would put something as fickle as game designing ahead of revolution!
It should be any true revolutionarys foremost dream to help the revolution, once succesful then you help the revolution anyway you can.

I would start and uprising here, but where I am I think democratic socialism can work. Would I go and start violent revolt somewhere else? No, it is none of my business, although I would offer aid during my gap year. It has to be a cause fought fr by the people that locally believe it. Otherwise you have outsiders doing it for their benifit, however I would not say I am not prepared to kill again.

Based in reality though, how could you get such a chance? I wonder if it is at all possible to go to another country and join in a revolutionary revolt. Would such people accept you? How would you get in contact with such people?

go to a country as part of a humanitarian volunteer organization and work with them for a few months. Gradually as you get to interact and communicate with the local peasant population, who knows what you can find out, and if they trust you, what they're willing to tell you about what they know.
It's all about intigration. :)

You maoist!
And how disobedient, would you let your militant civil disobedience-group be, Felicia?

You know you basically have to be able to speak spanish if you want to be a guerrilla right? Thats kindof important.

I don't really think guerrilla warfare will work very well right now. I'd attemp other styles of warfare, mostly for urban areas, but using some ideas from the typical guerrilla warfare and foquismo.

Agreed.

Yes it is but being in a guerrilla group is not the only form of activism. Guerrilla groups in many cases actually indirectly intimidate people and have a negative effect.
