Contradiction: And the Lying Liers that tell them

This is a pretty long read, well worth it if you get sick of individuals on this web site who contradict themselves, and or seem to lack the knowledge and research to back many of the things they say. Some may find this offensive but I find it informing for this forum to gain knowledge about interpretting views.. The following excerpts are from a poster on che-lives.com by the name of CheWillNeverDie (everything in quotes are directly from what CheWillNeverDie has posted, everything not in quotes are my comments)
None of this is propaganda, portions of the posts were cropped out to reduce reading (only in a few, some were originally short posts). If you believe I have cropped out important things to sway your opinion, feel free to search through the forums Philosophy, History, and Literature and Film as to that is where I have gained all of this information. As a matter of fact I encourage it. I am not doing this for dislike of this individual, or to isolate this individual, because there are more that I could do the same for. This person just happened to cross my line of view one to many times. Now keep in mind that this member has a Che Guevera avatar and a Che related name.

Ok. So read this next excerpt and ask yourself, how much does he really know about Stalin to make his assumption that he hates him.

keep in mind on this next one that he has a Che related name and a Che avatar, yet he clearly contradicts standing for Che by saying he is not communist… He also describes himself by saying someone who follows blindly is bad…

Now remember he couldn’t afford electricity.. only to find out he now owns how many expensive ass guitars. I do not consider myself poor, but I have no possible way to even purchase more then one of these guitars… let alone all of them…

My question about this next post : Do you know all of the underprivileged that lack wealth? No. My point exactly. If he lacked money I’m sure he would have a different view….

Please respond about this.. I find it very mind blowing that someone could be so confused yet still discuss these topics and contradict themselves because they have no firm beliefs. If this is not enought proof for you to realize this contradiction.. I encourage you to browse around anywhere on che-lives.com and occaionally keep an eye out for CheWillNeverDie and look for his contradictions and what his name/avatar represent but his mind doesnt. I have a feeling Chewillneverdie is in an adolescent period, who thinks Che Guevera t-shirts are the cool thing, yet still believes what his conservative parents tell him during dinnertime. Please share any comments

I can fully agree that this is under the wrong topic, however answer me this. What topic is this to go under? One topic I can think of is the Che topic, however this is not even about Che's views, only the people that claim to believe. Another topic could be "Chit Chat", however I do not believe this message will get across to all of the right people that realize that this is going on. I am not trying to be difficult, this is the topic that I thought it should go under. If it is moved, will someone please inform Chewillneverdie of the move. I chose to put it under this topic because this is where I know Chewillneverdie will most likely find it. This is my main goal so that he will hopefully learn that he needs facts and actual thought put into the things he writes. What exactly does different kind of guitars have to do with philosophy? Or incest have to do with philosophy besides human relations/interactions? This has to do with the human mind and the way people think.. This is pushing it but this is the best topic I can think to put it under that will get to the people looking for this kind of info.

I just took a quick look at the list of forums on this board; this seems like as good a place as any.

It's really about the question of people holding contradictory ideas in their heads all at the same time.

And why that's a bad thing.

I agree; it is a bad thing. On the other hand, when you are young and "new" to all this stuff, you bring along your "baggage" from the time in your life before you were even aware that radical ideas existed. The ideas that you bring along are, of course, bourgeois ideas...because those are the ideas that dominate our era.

There's a "transition period" involved...where you examine all your old bourgeois ideas and, if you are developing politically, discard them one by one or in whole chunks.

This process may last for much of your entire life. :o It's true.

One way we help each other on this board is to point out contradictions--not in a "nasty" way in order to "win" a "debate"--but because we want people to actually think about those contradictions and begin to resolve them.

Of course, some people are truly "hopelessly confused" and will probably stay that way for the rest of their lives. But most people, if approached in a constructive way, will respond to honest inquiry...how can you possibly say A and also say B? That doesn't make sense.

Perhaps we often only succeed in "planting a seed of doubt". But who can say what that seed will ultimately grow into?

to me the way you posted it just sounded like you were haveing a stab at him. i understand redstar about the "transition period" i feel myself ging through it right now but i havent been contradicting myself( to my knowlage). i'm finding out how radical i am. as i can agree on the faults of capitalism but as to the Alrtnetive im not as sure.

There was no way for me to write this without it looking like I was taking a stab at him. Thus the reason I reiterated that I was not pointing this individual out for any personal reason, and that I was not trying to isolate him. This topic was not about that one individual, thought I am hoping he will read it so he understands. I did this to bring up the point that quite a few posters in here tend to make no sense because they contradict themselves.

And yes I agree that the exact reason that individuals on here post confusing ideas is led by being young. And sure some younger persons may grow up and hold their radical ideas. However having grown up and witnessed the truth of the matter, many of these adolescence grow up and have completely different lifestyles, abandoning any previous beliefs. Their time spent praising ideas and gaining knowledge is a powerful thing, however these adolescence need to realize that in reality they may very well not believe in any of this in say 10 years.

I was not trying to isolate Chewillneverdie, and I may have come across in a rage, I had just read enough of his contradictions on that given day. My cup was full and was coming crashing down, however this topic was needed to express these contradictions on a broad view.
