Hello, everyone
I am from Seattle, but I am attending University in North Carolina. I am studying philosophy; I am also supplementing my philosophy degree with a minor in forest management and sustainable energy.
I have been influenced by Autonomist thinkers -- however, I still only have an incipient understanding Autonomism (workerism).
I have not been able to read much leftist literature lately, since I have been quite busy with my course work. But this forum will be a nice change of pace from my hectic schedule (I have been lurking for awhile without posting anything lol).
Cheers.

Welcome!
Which university are you attending? I did a tour there last summer.
What are your politics like?

Italian Autonomism interests me, although I'm not convinced by it.

I'd advise against answering that. This is rather like asking what company you work for. Security culture and all. Some users volunteer this, but I think unless you are a seasoned activist (or perhaps especially if you are) I'd be wary ofgoing into that much detail.

How are you liking UNC? I was born in Chapel Hill and have always been a die-hard tar heels fan. So you know, if we ever get to know each other, feel free to invite me to UNC-Duke game (kidding).
Anyways, welcome to the forum! I'm pretty much in the same boat as you in terms of autonomism, and have yet to get around to reading The Coming Insurrection, which it seems comes highly recommended for the most part.
EDIT: Oops you said "University in North Carolina" not "University of North Carolina". My apologies. Unless you go to Duke that is, in which case I apologize for nothing!

Hello! I don't know if you're new to leftism or not, but in case you are, have you read Friedrich Engel's Principles of Communism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm) and/or his Draft of a Communist Confession of Faith (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/06/09.htm)? It's available at marxists.org (Marxists Internet Archive).
I'd recommend checking this out (MIA): Beginners Guide to Marxism (http://marxists.org/subject/students/index.htm) and Lenin's The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism (http://marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1913/mar/x01.htm).
Also, here are a few books (PDFs) that are a good introduction to Marxism.
Marx: A Beginner's Guide (http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/fss/e8cf47710e69d334b5e9e87b31f39d5c/Collier+-+Marx+A+Beginners+Guide.pdf)
The Revolutionary Ideas of Karl Marx (http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/fss/d82d1569f5dc8ef869a21aba711c0f88/Callinicos+-+Revolutionary+Ideas+of+Marx.pdf)
Are you interested in any particular tendency right now?
If you're not new, then welcome! :)

"workerism" is another shape of Economism and has proven to be incapable of leading workers as a class. i suggest you read "what is to be done".
