These are the only two links I've been able to find. I didn't know about this!
Also, as long as I'm talking about Sundance films featuring famous revolutionaries, does anyone know if it's possible to buy or rent Oliver Stone's Fidel biopic, Comandante? It looks very interesting.

Not to shit in your cereal, but after watching him get on Hardball and say, without a doubt, that there was a conspiracy behind JFK's assassination (mainly to give press to his shitty movie on the subject), and then after watching him make a mockery out of MR. MOJO RISIN' hisself, I will never watch another Olly Stone movie. Especially when it is about someone who I respect.
I guess you know the facts though, so you can tell us how fair of a representation it is.

I seen clips of the film on BBC News 24, It looked excellent. It also mentioned another film about Che, The clip of that film showed him at the Aztec ruins.

Oliver Stone seems a little wrong in the head... but his movie on Fidel is supposed to be excellent.

you have to remember,
Oliver Stone fought for America in Vietnam...so obviously he wouldnt feel too greatly towards Castro.
After watching Commandante, I feel it represented Castro (especially in US Media) in a way better light. People saw this guy not as some 'major threat'...but as a guy who really is concerned with his people...and accurately representing the working class, moreso than the US gov't, which represents mostly high middle to first class.
Commandante is a better representation of Castro vs. usual US Media bullshit. Stone's comments are his, and I'm assuming are educated ones at that...who cares if he thinks there's a conspiracy or not...he made a good movie about Castro, something that alotta ppl in the West needed.

I own "Salvador" and I did like it, because it did put the main issues of the Civil War and U$'s involvement out there. Being Salvadoran, I seen many exaggerations and little inconsistancies like, Stone made us look Mexican by dress and mannerisms, and he put the guerillas on horses which is really untrue. But, all in all a good film because the brutality, death and stories were all true..

The Motorcycle Diaries was by all accounts very well received at Cannes. The Screen International Jury (a group of 11 international critics whose ratings are often a very good indicator of what films will take home a prize) ranks it third out of the field of 19, with an average rating of 2.9 out of 4 (behind 2046 with 3.3/4 and Look at Me with 3/4). It is thus highly probable that the film will take home an award, although probably not the top prize (which is pretty much reserved for 2046, since jury president Quentin Tarantino is a vocal and huge fan of the director). A trailer for the film, footage from the press conference, and an interview with the director are available at the festival's website (http://www.festival-cannes.com/films/fiche_film.php?langue=6002&id_film=4200484).

have y'all seen the movie.....ah, dangit, it is either called Fidel, or Castro. I can't remember which, i think its Fidel. i was just scrolling through the movies one day and I saw it. I figured it would be some stupid documentary but it was actually a movie. it is the only movie about the revolution I have seen so I have to say it was pretty good. They showed Che a lot, maybe even more than Castro, which was pretty cool.

The movie Demonio Comunista is refering to is indeed called Fidel. I figured the same thing.. corny documentary but it was a good movie. The actor who portrayed Che in this movie is named Gael and he is also in the Motorcycle Diaries as none other than a young Che..err .. Ernesto. LoL. The actor did a great job in portraying Che in Fidel but i havent seen the Motorcycle Diaries to say how his performance in that was. In alot of the scenes he did resemble Che. well done if i say... :)
