Golden Dawn thugs attack KKE members in the neighbourhood of Perama; 8 seriously injured

Friday, September 13, 2013

On the night of September 12th, a group of approximately 30 Golden Dawn thugs approached members of the KKE (the stalinist-communist party) in the neighbourhood of Perama. Perama hosts the ship construction zone and has been a traditional KKE stronghold. Eight KKE members were seriously injured and hospitalised. So far, no GD members have been arrested. The KKE is calling for a gathering tonight at Perama’s Iroon square, at 6 pm.

Thessaloniki: PAOK sport fans trash the local Golden Dawn office; police arrest 46 in retaliation
Thursday, September 12, 2013
At approximately 6pm on September 11, fans of PAOK, a local sports club in Thessaloniki, attacked the office of Golden Dawn in the city. The attack comes after Golden Dawn issued a statement against a PAOK footballer who revealed an UCK (Kosovo Liberation Army) t-shirt during a match of the football club.

In response to the attack, Thessaloniki police immediately detained 46 PAOK fans, all of whom were eventually arrested and charged – and will appear before a prosecutor at 11am on Thursday. The fans have called for a solidarity gathering outside the courthouse at that time.

why would GD criticize someone who is a fan of the KLA? For being an Albania lover?

greek nationalists lay claim to macedonia, maybe they have a similar claim to kosovo?

edit: ah, here it is:

The UCK sought the separation of Kosovo from Yugoslavia during the 1990s and members of the group have recently made provocative statements claiming parts of Western Greece belong to Albania, which have been criticised by the Greek government.

inter-fascist competition.

These POAK guys (Gate 4 I guess) aren't Fascist. They will just be supporting their player because he is their player. Now that these people have been arrested expect all out war on the part of POAK.

This was POAK's last game away to Veroia

But why the USK thing? I am really not sure how these clubs in europe work. Are they semi-organize societies?

considering that PAOK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P.A.O.K.) also uses the double headed eagle as its symbol it was probably meant as an joke that the player put on the shirt from his mate... he already stated that he didnt want to make a political statement.

paok fans didnt care what the shirt was about, they frankly do not give a fuck! They went after GD because GD made a negative announcement for a player of their team.Whatever that player did, he is part of PAOK, and an announcement against him by anyone, is considered an announcement against paok amongst the fans.Hence, the attack on golden dawn.
No paok fans aint fascists, but this wasnt really a politically motivated attack by them.
