It bothers me (probably by extension through my mum) that Augusto Pinochet lived a long and very wealthy life and managed to die before he had to really answer for his multitude of crimes - and that goes for his backers in the US government as well. So much for defending freedom and democracy, eh?

Bad Spanish, but an awesome tribute. Seems like Bruce is not just a good musician, but a cool dude in general.

Unfortunately that was the case in most US-backed coups in LA. Chile still has a case where many military officers were condemned, while in Brasil the amnesty law forgave the tortured and the torturers at the same time. Total bullshit.
