Hello there, i am 14 year old male from Canada. I was once a close minded Monarchist who believed that monarchy is necessary to maintain order through out the commonwealth... However, after actually researching left wing philosophy i have realised that monarchies are simply a thing of the past and are being kept alive by the elite in order to hold us down. I have now turned to far leftism. And I must say that just the feeling of not being a slave to some ancient dictatorship, is just fantastic! I know it sounds weird but i just never really experienced the feeling of thinking for myself!
Also really sorry for how poor my spelling is, I am normally much better at this but tonight i am VERY tired!

Hello! I registered here when I was 14 (I'm 15 now). I don't know if you're new to leftism or not, but in case you are, have you read Friedrich Engel's Principles of Communism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm) and/or his Draft of a Communist Confession of Faith (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/06/09.htm)? It's available at marxists.org (Marxists Internet Archive).
I'd recommend checking this out (MIA): Beginners Guide to Marxism (http://marxists.org/subject/students/index.htm) and Lenin's The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism (http://marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1913/mar/x01.htm).
Also, here are a few books (PDFs) that are a good introduction to Marxism.
Marx: A Beginner's Guide (http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/fss/e8cf47710e69d334b5e9e87b31f39d5c/Collier+-+Marx+A+Beginners+Guide.pdf)
The Revolutionary Ideas of Karl Marx (http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/fss/d82d1569f5dc8ef869a21aba711c0f88/Callinicos+-+Revolutionary+Ideas+of+Marx.pdf)
Are you interested in any particular tendency right now?
If you're not new, welcome! :)

Hey Welcome!
My "little" sister (she's 25) lives in Ottawa. She's not a radical or anything, so I don't suppose it's particularly relevant. There are, however, a handful of totally wonderful Wobblies (http://ottawaiww.org/) in Ottawa too - maybe that's more pertinent?
Mixed feelings on the city as a whole though, honestly. Can't say it's my favourite place in the country, but I guess I'm spoiled in Montreal.
Anyway, cheers!

Welcome!
I used to be a monarchist (for different reasons, but still). Congratulations on getting over that

The commonwealth loves to breed a cult of personality around an arrogantly smug sack of bourgeois tossers!
Anyway...welcome to revleft.

Welcome and I'm glad you came to your senses about monarchy.
