We would have supreme athletes, such as in the USSR, as every sport would be free to learn and people compete not on the amount of money, but how many goals they score in a game, this would be frienly competition and the whole world would be less stressful

You just need to look at Cuba, they don't have any professional athletes as it is against the principles that they follow. But they have some of the best amateur athletes in the world. They have dominated boxing for a long time and they are making a bigger impact on the track and field events. Baseball is also very popular, one of the most popular in the country.
Sports are encouraged as it is a chance for the people to relax and work out the urges that they have to better other people and win.

The Cuban baseball team is amazing, every time they out class the Americans. They play so much more aggressively, it's brilliant to watch, not just because it is usually a good game but because the American's look shattered.

What an idiot. Everyone knows that the Russian ref blatantly cheated and allowed time back on the clock that had expired, allowing the USSR to make the "winning" shot. But if that's the only way you can feel victory, go ahead and believe it. Besides, that was before the pros were allowed to compete, in which case the U.S. would tear them a new one.

In Canoe and Kayak Sprint, Cuba won 1 gold (Ibrahim Rojas/Leobaldo Pereira) and 2 silver medals (Ibrahim Rojas/Leobaldo Pereire
and Ledi Balceiro) at the World Championships this year (more than Britain.) Also Ledi Balceiro is officially ranked 7th in the world far higher than any western European or American (not Canadians) athletes.

Cuba has always had the best baseball players in the world.
BASEBALL IS NOT A COMMUNIST SPORT!
It is an American Sport - and always played excellently by Cubans - not communist Cubans - just Cubans.
Communism has nothing to do with Cuban Baseball!

Why then do current and former communist countries seem to excel in a sport that originates in North America (canoe and kayak racing)? I mean Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Cuba, Russia, The Ukraine, Poland (i'm buying a boat that was made there:smile:),

LOL, I think it is something to do with the USSR drugged their athletes and concentrated on winning to prove a point, still in Stalinist Russia the coach potato was not invented

Actually, while those countries I mentioned probably did use drugs at one time. Now it is the case that any drug use is not sanctioned by their governing bodies.
cough, cough, PETER MARKOV
Poland is far better at technical equipment though. Poland is where the best C1 boats are made.
Lithuania and Hungary make Braca (pronounced Bra-Cha) paddles (and i've got one) and they win most of the medals.

You can't get on in the world of sport now without drugs or some kind of dodgy physically enhancing technique.
There are plenty of drugs they can't detect, they only people they stop are the ones with the bad drugs.
All that the olympics and other shit like that is about in real terms is whose got the best 'medical' advisor..
interestingly enough, loads of doctors from former soviet countries who used to 'advise' sportspeople there now sell their services to sportspeople and clubs all artound the world...
